This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines:
"Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet"
So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other:
"I had all and then most of you"
Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart
"Some and now none of you"
Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship.
This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
It might seem crazy what I'm 'bout to say
Sunshine she's here, you can take a break
I'm a hot air balloon that could go to space
With the air, like I don't care baby by the way
Huh, because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do
Here come bad news, talking this and that
(Yeah) Well, give me all you got, and don't hold it back
(Yeah) Well, I should probably warn you I'll be just fine
(Yeah) No offense to you, don't waste your time
Here's why
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do
Hey, go, uh (happy)
Bring me down, can't nothin' (happy)
Bring me down
My level's too high (happy), to bring me down
Can't nothin' (happy), bring me down
I said (let me tell you now) uh
Bring me down, can't nothin'
Bring me down
My level's too high to bring me down
Can't nothin' bring me down
I said
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988.
"'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it."
"There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'

I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example:
"'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Is nobody seeing the irony?
Yes, the song may seem on the surface to be, as he put it, "happy", but it's all the perspective of a creep underneath. The guy's basically saying, I don't know you, but I'm going to throw in several sex clichés like you're "a room without a roof", which is obviously double-sided. Think about it. He's implying that the girl HAS a room without a roof, and that he's trying to get her pregnant. And don't start me on the hot air balloon in space. The song is all about him trying to get this girl to "clap" with him and "warning" that he'll be cool with it. Why warning? Where's this creep going with this? He doesn't care, because he's, I don't know, "happy"? Or more than that?
P.S. I'm not a moron; I'm simply someone who can read between the lines. As you clap along to this song, you're doing so in such irony.
For serious? The song was written originally for Despicable Me 2. Gru has just had a great night with Kirsten Wiig's character and he's simply feeling happy and goes around doing awesome things on his way to work. You're not reading between the lines, you're looking into it too far. The song is simple and the meaning is simple
Didn't notice that till now... Dang
Yeah, I do now. I was looking for this and I agree.
Why do people always have to find a meaning related to sex? For every tv show for kids, every movie, every song. There's always someone that "finds" something sexual. Every person find a meaning for every song, and identifies with it in their own way. That's why music is amazing. But this one is pretty simple. It was made for a kid's movie, and it means he is happy. The song makes people happy. Is pretty catchy and nice. That's it, is about happiness.
This is the most positive a pure songs that i know. First of all, it was on the DESPICABLE ME 2 SOUNDTRACK!!!!! If Pharell did intend what you are implying, wouldnt the people who made the movie take this into account and NOT USE IT??
So, just let Pharell be happy and let everyone enjoy this awseome song for what it is.
JUST BE HAPPYYYYYY
Truth is, a number of kid's films have adult stuff sneaked in. Observe.
whatculture.com/film/10-incredibly-filthy-jokes-you-wont-believe-are-hidden-in-childrens-movies.php
They deceive as much as this song does.
