Fix what’s wrong, but don’t rewrite what the artist wrote. Stick to the official released version — album booklet, label site, verified lyric video, etc. If you’re guessing, pause and double-check.
Respect the structure
Songs have rhythm. Pages do too. Leave line breaks where they belong. Don’t smash things together or add extra empty space just for looks.
Punctuation counts (but vibe-editing doesn’t)
Correct typos? Yes. Re-punctuating a whole verse because it ‘looks better’? Probably not. Keep capitalization and punctuation close to the official source.
Don’t mix versions
If you’re editing the explicit version, keep it explicit. If it’s the clean version, keep it clean. No mashups.
Let the lyrics be lyrics
This isn’t the place for interpretations, memories, stories, or trivia — that’s what comments are for. Keep metadata, translations, and bracketed stage directions out unless they’re officially part of the song.
Edit lightly
If two lines are wrong… fix the two lines. No need to bulldoze the whole page. Think ‘surgical,’ not ‘remix.’
When in doubt, ask the crowd
Not sure what they’re singing in that fuzzy bridge? Drop a question in the comments and let the music nerds swarm. Someone always knows.
"I know I f***ed up again
'Cause I lost my only friend
God forgive my sins'"
These few lines remind me of Lina Morgana, Lady Gaga's music partner in 2007 and then she commited suicide in 2008 before Lady Gaga actually became Lady Gaga. She commited suicide in New York from jumping 10 stories to her death. Yana Morgana said Gaga has stole her style and is keeping Lina's soul and wants it to be set free.
At the beginning of the song it is apparent some unfortunate events had taken place between the singer and their romantic partner.
Lady Gaga bears great remorse for her leaving and begins to sing why. At the time she had a love for both her self destructive behavior and her lover but ultimately hurt her partner because she couldn't let her addiction go.
She sings many times "I need you more than dope" to express the brevity of how much she really needs her partner, that even though she used her "dope" in excess to the point of tearing their relationship apart.
One should also be aware of the lyric "I'm sorry and I love you" and how bare it is sung. In many songs love and remorse are worded sweetly to appeal to the listener but in Lady Gaga's case, it is sung so plainly that it could never possibly be misunderstood how much she cares and how much she loves her partner.
The "Dope" in the song could be a literally drug like heroin but it could also be any other vice like self destructive behavior, revenge, gambling, etc.
To my knowledge this song is not about any specific event from Lady Gaga's life or any addiction she may or may not have.
I think this song is about Gaga falling in love with her best friend. But it's one sided. Just being around him makes her high. She eventually decided that she couldn't take it anymore and told her best friend the truth. However, the truth destroyed their friendship. From that point, her life is not the same. She has been feeling low because he wasn't around to stimulate her like he used to.
Gaga will do anything to steal anything from anyone, not that she cared her friend died, or cares about keeping her soul alive. She's got the face of a murderer even! It wouldn't surprise me if she was in the conspiracy! ;)
