@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
You tell yourself you’ll be fine,
That you didn’t waste your time
Remember what he taught you
You know that you taught him too,
his guard was in plastic for you
An armor you could always see through
So you have this friend,
would you let him steer
Said you’d never depend
What are you doing here
He locks you in his eyes and takes you in his shield
Now you’re under his disguise
Before the lock is sealed
So don’t cry for your stunted love
You’re knit together like a glove
You tried to call it curiosity,
Coping with your own hypocrisy
Watch out you might be falling
Are you still falling
You told yourself you’ll be fine,
That you didn’t waste your time
Remember what he taught you
You know that you taught him too
His guard was in plastic for you
An armor you could always see through
So you had this friend,
Was it only a year
Played what could have been
What are you doing here
Are you still falling
That you didn’t waste your time
Remember what he taught you
You know that you taught him too,
his guard was in plastic for you
An armor you could always see through
So you have this friend,
would you let him steer
Said you’d never depend
What are you doing here
He locks you in his eyes and takes you in his shield
Now you’re under his disguise
Before the lock is sealed
So don’t cry for your stunted love
You’re knit together like a glove
You tried to call it curiosity,
Coping with your own hypocrisy
Watch out you might be falling
Are you still falling
You told yourself you’ll be fine,
That you didn’t waste your time
Remember what he taught you
You know that you taught him too
His guard was in plastic for you
An armor you could always see through
So you had this friend,
Was it only a year
Played what could have been
What are you doing here
Are you still falling
