It was said by either Syn or Zack that this song was about Shadows' son being born. About how Shadows knows he's made some mistakes in his life but he will do his best to be a great dad. (Something that shouldn't be too hard for him). Great song all around with a deep connection to the listener
I lost my Dad to cancer one week ago. The song reminds me of how important my father was to me and I to him. He was only 65 and I'm only 31. Its the hardest thing losing him, but when I hear this song I get choked up in a good way. I'm sad his time was short, but it was an awesome 31 years I got to spend with him. There were times partying was way more imortant than family and I didn't spend the time with him he wanted. I also battled alcoholism, but was able to be sober for the last 2 years we had together. When I hear the opening lyrics I just lose it. But in the end I know he still walks with me every day in my heart. Fucking great song.
