I Got You Lyrics

Back when all my little goals seemed so important
Every pot of gold filling full of distortion
Heaven was a place still in space not in motion
But soon

I got you
I got everything
I've got you
I don't need nothing more than you
I got everything
I've got you

We went walking through the hills
trying to pretend we both know
Maybe if I save her we could build a little home
But then the hail storm came and yelled you need to let go
you go no control, no

-chorus-

This weighs too much alone
some days I can't hold it at all
You take it all for me
when tomorrow's too much
I'll carry it all
I got you
and when tomorrow's too much
I'll carry it all
I got you

-chorus-

(whistle)

Beautiful song...I think the word "hell" in the 3rd verse should have said "hailstorm" instead

I watched an interview with jack johnson where he discussed the meaning of this song. He said he first thought of it when he was travelling with his wife, Kim, and their minivan had broken down and there was a hailstorm - as mentioned in the song - and they realised they didn't need anything apart from eachother to have a nice time!
