As she mistakes my name,
I see the light come around
And strange as it seems,
I'm bursting at the seams
And oh I've got a woman now
Her wallet photos don't turn me on
I feel her hand come around
And her stone-wash denim jeans
Are darker than they seem
And oh I've got a woman now
She said "My name is Eileen,
Boy that's all you need."
Oh, "And this one's on the house;
I don't mind."
It all tastes the same
But boy, there's something different about your mouth
You try chasing dreams,
Man, it's harder than it seems
And oh I've got a woman now
And oh I've got a woman now
I see the light come around
And strange as it seems,
I'm bursting at the seams
And oh I've got a woman now
I feel her hand come around
And her stone-wash denim jeans
Are darker than they seem
And oh I've got a woman now
Boy that's all you need."
Oh, "And this one's on the house;
I don't mind."
But boy, there's something different about your mouth
You try chasing dreams,
Man, it's harder than it seems
And oh I've got a woman now
And oh I've got a woman now

I think that it is about a prostitute. "As she mistakes me name"- She's been with so many men she just can remember any of their names. "I see the light come around" - He sees the light(a phrase) he sees the reality and can see that something's not quite right. "Her stone wash denim jeans are darker than they seem"- Metaphorically implying that she isn't as nice as she seems "She said my name is Eileen,boy that's all you need" -Self explanatory her name and she's saying that he doesn't need to know a thing else about her because she presumes that all he really wants is sex. "This ones on the house I don't mind"- she doesn't want the money "It all tastes the same" all men taste the same. "But boy there's something different about your mouth" maybe she fell in love with him because he was nice to her? "You try chasing dreams,man it's harder than it seems"- I feel as though Matt was concerned about her and was asking about her and she explained how she 'tried chasing her dreams' and she had different aspirations but ended up like this. She may have found solice in him.
It's about a prostitute, presumably named Eileen, who Matt met when he was younger and said she was lovely. He fell a bit in love with her and I guess that's why he wrote a song about her.
