Death's Song

Probably completely wrong but at least ill get a conversation moving. I feel like, considering he has always had a song about death or a funeral or losing someone in each album, people come to assume that he will always have a song like that. Didn't really have one like that in this album so he threw this in, almost jokingly. Again, probably completely wrong but I want to see some other inputs!

I actually think this song, along with most others including death, is about his battle with mental illness. I can relate to it all because I battle a lot of what he deals with. I love that he found his release in some of the pain by pouring his heart and soul into the lyrics. I wish I was that talented. I think in order for him, me and many others that constantly battle this it is important to find a healthy release from the inner turmoil that we constantly struggle with.

I think this song is a tribute to all of the people who listen to Dallas Green and City and Colour. He's worked really hard, now it's his relaxing time.

What becomes of me When you stop listening? Do I disappear into the silence Or return from the void with brand-new life?

I think that line right there means what would he do without us (Fans). , he wouldn't be a popular singer. He would have a brand new life.

Will I find a resting place; Somewhere to wash my hands and face?

Will he get a break ? Well , this is it.

Gathering the harvest for all I need; Collapsing into this place of ease,

He's providing us with everything we love his music. Dallas green makes it like nothing.
