For what I see, for all of you every Deftones song is about Chi... I know Chi was a great person, but Deftones have a lot more to express than just the pass of a loved person. They got some songs about the loving memory of Chi, and officially they released in 2013 'Smile', which Chino explained that is totally about Chi, but not every damn song.

This song is about Chi.
It's about looking forward to seeing Chi again and looking back on their time shared. Quite stark and direct for Chino, but again, open to your own layers. Chino is just the best songwriter that I can think of.

"We’re alive somewhere else Still asleep someplace new." It's about two separate people who should and always will be separate, only one of them won't leave the other one alone. He wants to toy with her and try to manipulate her so she'll be an online companion when he's feeling down. It's about two separate people, one who already sleeps elsewhere and one who is now actively seeking someone to sleep with forever. And it feels damn good for her to be looking, laughing, and talking. It's about one who's alive when s/he is with children and one who will be so much more alive when he leaves her alone and stops the fucking mind games. And wouldn't it be nice when he';s not fucking and lying that he fix his damn site so others can use it to its full benefit.
