I think its about not wanting to have a past so that you can remain pure, and not disappoint/ let down your ancestors.About wanting to be preserved as you are forever, before you become imperfect/ ruined.

About how circumstances don't lead us to make mistakes, but about how what we do in these circumstances/ what happens in them does.
