I’ve got bad blood
I’ve done bad things
How can I control myself
If I enjoy these nasty habits

I can hear the voices stirring
Oh the awful things they’re planning

I don’t play nice
I don’t give in
Was it nature, was it nurture
Maybe I was just born evil

It’s no use I can’t control it
Maybe it’s a sign not to quit

I can guarantee
I will do evil things
The only way that you can stop me now
Is if you put me in the ground
Somewhere I’ll never be found

I am most disturbed
I deserve to be interred
Don’t you dare turn your back on me
I’ll attack without a warning sign
The terror that lurks in the night.

I’ve got nine lives
I’ve done grim acts
No remorse, should I feel guilty
If I adore these warped offenses

I can hear the voices stirring
Oh the awful things they’re planning

I don’t feel pain
I don’t back down
My thoughts are filled with cruel intentions
Maybe my conscience is possessed

It’s no use I can’t control it
Maybe it’s a sign not to quit

I can guarantee
I will do evil things
The only way that you can stop me now
Is if you put me in the ground
Somewhere I’ll never be found

I am most disturbed
I deserve to be interred
Don’t you dare turn your back on me
I’ll attack without a warning sign
The terror that lurks in the night.

I am not long for this world
And I yearn for the day that my life’s snuffed out

All these sinister thoughts
And my ghoulish transgressions

Cut me down in a hail of bullets
Remove my head to make sure I don’t get up

To be safe just burn my body
Before they consecrate me

I can guarantee
I will do evil things
The only way that you can stop me now
Is if you put me in the ground
Somewhere I’ll never be found

I am most disturbed
I deserve to be interred
Don’t you dare turn your back on me
I’ll attack without a warning sign
The terror that lurks in the night.

    My Interpretation
Other than the voices part, to me this song is basically the personal theme song of anyone with Antisocial Personality Disorder, which in most extreme cases refers to Sociopaths and Psychopaths It talks about not feeling remorse, doing evil things without anyone being able to stop them, being disturbed, nature vs nurture (a common question regarding sociopaths/psychopaths), being born evil, no conscience, not wanting to be a part of the world around them, and not feeling pain or backing down to things. The pain in this case would be emotional pain, I'm sure most people with ASPD can feel physical pain. The only thing inconsistent with the ASPD theme is the voices, since in order to have that disorder you cannot have any psychotic symptoms, including hearing voices. In which case the song could just be about being crazy and evil, but I will always prefer my interpretation of it. Sources: Psychology Classes Personal Experience with ASPD

Alma Matters
Morrissey
The man has pseudo-friends who constantly criticize his actions. They moralize him, "teach" him and advise him to make a significant change in his life, because the way he is and what he does is not what they say it should be. They may find his life lame or immoral. They hold themselves up as role models. The man replies that he will make his own choices and decisions and he does not agree to unconditionally make himself under the influence of questionable quality advice. He justifies this by saying that there is always someone for whom he will be important, no matter what he does and no matter what he is. Although it is not said directly, I read it as meaning that he will always be important to himself in every way and he will always have his own support. "Everyone is different and maybe that's a good thing, but you exceeded that mark 1000 times" - I remember very well how sad the words I once heard (from my peers and it was in negative context) at school made me feel.
