"Telos" really blew me away. What's the story behind that one? Where does it fit within the album's narrative? Where were you coming from lyrically?
This song deals with the part of the story where Prospect 2 is basically deciding he wants to end humankind. He's speaking his mind to Prospect 1 and trying to convince through domination. Prospect 1 seems to have already decide he is very different from his "Soul Mate" but he decides to keep his mouth shut and leave Prospect 2's life soon. The "She Writes/Speaks" in the middle section of the song is from the point of view of Prospect 2's wife whom he left on the Old Planet. The "writes" section is a letter she is writing about how he has hurt her. He didn't leave a note or any sign of why he has left that she knows about. She feels alone and can't take life anymore. She then decides to end her life by burning down the house they built together with her inside. This note is what she will bury outside in case he ever comes back. The "speaks" section is her last thoughts while the house is burning down. "Telos" is defined as: an ultimate object or aim.

I'm not disputing the writer's explanation BUT
2.Is his wife the headless lover of three? It seems kind of useless to add in a new character that kills herself in the song she's introduced in…but if it was the headless lover, aka prospect 2's planet, wasn't that destroyed in the last EP?
This song is freaking incredible. Arguably the heaviest music I've ever heard is smashed into its position between soft, beautiful interludes of love lost and pain delicately described by gentle waves of melodic entropy and lament.. "built to destroy, born to dominate.. " these words are more aggressively uttered than any other "heavy" riffs than I've heard and impact the mind with a dominant chordance I may have heard similarly done but never with such sick, heavy, anger and malice while simultaneously keeping the writer distant, simply describing this malevolence with perfect diction and clarity, really nailing into place the hardness of the character and their commitment to the cause, not unlike the writer Tommy himself and the rest of btbam who are wholly committed to their vision, their opus, Magnum in every sense of the word. Beautiful power, ingenious music. Thanks btbam.
