Cure For The Enemy Lyrics
Time
Drifts through the sky
Without a reason why
We walk past the flowers
Don’t stop for a breath
Until they’re above our heads
We used to fight
Have we made amends?
Father I just can’t tell
Watching you spend
The time you have left
Trapped in a cold blue bed
In darkness we’ll rest
Count the days down to one last breath
In darkness we’ll rest
So forgive what you can’t forget
We said
That we would call
But we never spoke at all
The years drfited by
We built up these walls
For reasons that seem so small
If this is the end
Let’s bury the past
This might be our one last chance
Together until
The last grain of sand
Has dropped from the hourglass
(So open your Eyes) Open your eyes, and don’t forget to breathe
(If we lose the fight) If we lose the fight, your spirit will live through me
(It’s time we make right) It’s time we make right the pages of history
(Until we find) Until we find a cure for the enemy
All those you’ve loved
All those who’ve died
All we have left is what lives in our mind
All those you’ve loved
All those who’ve died
I know their spirits are up in the sky
(So open your Eyes) Open your eyes, and don’t forget to breathe
(If we lose the fight) If we lose the fight, your spirit will live through me
(It’s time we make right) It’s time we make right the pages of history
(Until we find) Until we find a cure for the enemy
And in darkness we’ll rest
Count the days down to one last breath
And in darkness we’ll rest
So forgive what you can’t forget
All those you’ve loved
All those who’ve died
All we have left is what lives in our mind

This song is one of my favourites by Billy Talent. It's about losing friends or family members to illnesses like cancer. You should make the best out of the time you have together and if the relationship between you and your parents isn't the best, you should at least try to improve it as long as you can. It's a very powerful song and the band has worked on it for years. I think it was worth it to not give up on this song.
@biphie that's exactly what these lyrics tell me. Very nice comment.

This song is anti-war
Time drifts through the sky Without a reason why We walk past the flowers Don't stop for a breath Until they're above our heads

In darkness we'll rest Count the days down to one last breath In darkness we'll rest So forgive what you can't forget -Forgive what you can't forget, kind of self-explanatory. When I hear this, I immediately think of the Holocaust (which was a very evil thing I'm not saying it wasn't) and how Germany is so ashamed about their past.

It's generally speaking about things in the past influencing you negativly in the present. this can be applied to several circumstances, for example griefing of close people that passed away, psychological trauma that controls our present life, war that seperates communities, etc. And when the end gets closer (death), you pick theese things up into your consciousness, but then it's already too late to make a meaningfull difference.
