Birth of the Economic Hit Man Lyrics

Uprising within us
a sense of total dissillusion
about what we're made of
and where we want to be
it's not so important
to collect as many things
as we can
before our time has come

our life is more than a side effect
we must learn to be lost graciously

we've become everything we critized
light gives way, shadows peel open our eyes
blinding us within
nothing is sacred
nothing is sacred
ooooooo
nothing is sacred

Maybe we have to
forget everything we learned
about where we came from
to find out where we need to go
it's not so important
to collect as many coins
from the fountain
before our time is up

our life is more than a side effect
we must learn to be lost graciously

we've become everything we critized
light gives way, shadows peel open our eyes
blinding us within
nothing is sacred
nothing is sacred
ooooooo
nothing is sacred
ooooooo
nothing is sacred

nothing is scared
(not that it ever was)

our life is more than a side effect
we must learn to be lost

"The lyrics for this song came out of a poem I wrote when I was going broke right after James was born. Ten years ago the idea of putting a song in a commercial was the lamest thing to do, and now it's one of the few ways bands make money from songs. When the dudes came to me with the music I just started singing the melody right away. At the time i was listening to the Deftones a ton and I think you can hear that in the chorus."- Anthony Green

He had to have gotten the name for the song from "Zeitgeist: Addendum." With such a thriving mind I wouldn't be surprised if he is into that way if thinking.

Hey guys I'm not really confident about the "light gives way, shadows they open our eyes" line. If someone could help me on that line I would appreciate it. Any other corrections are welcome but I'm fairly sure the rest of it is right.

Lyric Correction

It sounds more like "shadows spill over our eyes" to me.

I listened back and shadows spill over our eyes sounds right. thanks!

Two more things, lol. I keep listening to this song, and every time I do it sounds more like "peel" instead of "spill". Doesn't really make more sense to me, but whatever. Also, the title on the album is shown as "Birth of the Economic Hit Man". Just thought I'd point that out
