Loving Strangers Lyrics

Loving strangers, loving strangers
Loving strangers, oh-oh
Loving strangers, loving strangers
Loving strangers, oh

I’ve got a hole in my pocket
Where all the money has gone
I’ve got a whole lot of work
To do with your heart
‘Cause it’s so busy, mine’s not

Loving strangers, loving strangers
Loving strangers, oh-oh
Loving strangers, loving strangers
Loving strangers, oh

It’s just the start of the winter
And I’m all alone
But I’ve got my eye right on you

Give me a coin
And I’ll take you to the moon
Now give me a bill
And I’ll kiss you so foolishly

Like you do when you lie
When you’re not in my thoughts
Like you do when you lie
And I know it’s not my imagination

Loving strangers, loving strangers
Loving strangers, oh-oh
Loving strangers, loving strangers
Loving strangers, oh

Loving strangers, loving strangers
Loving strangers, oh-oh
Loving strangers, loving strangers
Loving strangers, oh

Hypnotic. Reaches into a mood of hopeful lonliness. The plunking of the banjo makes the "arrow" sharper. Ken B.

For me, this song is not only about loving a stranger, but also about how easy it is to fall in love with someone when we are blue and fragile. In verse 1, the line “I’ve got a hole in my pocket/ Where all the money has gone” gives a picture of a homeless girl by the street. She doesn’t belong to anyone and she has no friends or family to be with. Then, this stranger just comes into her sight and changes everything. I think it is posible the songs talks about a person who loves to make love encounters with strangers, perhaps ladies of the night, to say it in a gentle form. But, you know, it is something perhaps a litle expensive, and for that reason the song spoke about the " hole in the pocket ", through which, " all the money has gone ". I think is a beautiful, and interesting song. It is the theme of the film " Habitacion en Roma ", " Room in Rome ", with Elena Anaya and an excelent actress, Odessa born named Yarochenko I think. They are 2 women who met in a night in Rome, and had a beautiful night of spiritual and carnal love. I recomend it.

"strangers" may refer to the fact that the couple still haven't known each other well enough, like they are still stranger to each other, but still foolish in love.
