Such an inspiring and timely message from one of the greatest lyricists of my generation.
The message is simple as I see it: varying opinions and arguing incessantly over them is causing a rift in humanity as a whole. We need to start focusing on the "and" in life, not about the "versus". Ethics and opinions aren't categorically right or wrong but love is universal.
Alanis: "It is about the one-on-one [relationship] because that's most micro, close to my heart, tangible. But then it can be extrapolated to speak to the larger relationship — relationship with self, with someone's version of spirit, with each other."
