Beautiful song.

I could be taking the song too literally, but to me it sounds like the narrator is travelling by train through a mountain landscape in winter (Switzerland?). While she is enjoying the view, she can't prevent thinking about a special person. Everything reminds her of that person. Maybe she is on her way to him/her ...

I think it’s about someone who has just broken up with their significant other. They’re driving away (halfway to their new destination - either physically or metaphorically). The breakup was a bad one- that’s why the Ickes remind them of their ex. But they’re not quite emotionally over the person. Thoughts linger. Heart is still engaged...
