Waited for your call, for the moon
To release me from the longest afternoon
I've re-arranged parts of my living room
But time is hard to kill since I met you
Looking at the cars that drive on by
While spring is making promise outside
Red cars are quite rare I realize
Then I wonder which color you like
Seven little numbers baby, they could be a start
Seven little numbers baby, I know yours by heart
Woo-oh, oh-oh, all the pretty things that we could be
Woo-oh, oh-oh, I feel you in every heart beat
Woo-oh, oh-oh, were you ever in a dream that could come true
These numbers could be lucky for you
Watch the sky change to a darkened blue
I can't think of another thing to do
And every song just makes me think of you
Because the singers sounds as if she was longing,
As if she was longing, too
Seven little numbers baby, they could be a start
Seven little numbers baby, I know yours by heart
Seven little numbers baby, they could make a change
Seven little numbers baby, make a fire out of this flame
Woo-oh, oh-oh, all the pretty things that we could be
Woo-oh, oh-oh, I feel you in every heart beat
Woo-oh, oh-oh, were you ever in a dream that could come true
These numbers could be lucky for you
I read your name on every wall, on every wall, tell me
Is there a cure for me at all, for me at all, tell me
I read your name on every wall, on every wall, tell me
Is there a cure for me at all, for me at all
Woo-oh, oh-oh, all the pretty things that we could be
Woo-oh, oh-oh, I feel you in every heart beat
Woo-oh, oh-oh, were you ever in a dream that could come true
These numbers could be lucky for you
Woo-oh, oh-oh
Woo-oh, oh-oh
Woo-oh, oh-oh
These numbers could be lucky

The beginning of the song brings the listener to the memory of this desire. When you realize that you want to be released from a grip of unhappiness. Deciding to truly change she commits to trying to bring things into her house that remind her of the divine in her house. Recognizing that the symbolic interaction she has in her life does impact her way of being. She then relaxes into the moment and realizes that it's impossible to waste time when you are in the presence of God.
The cars that drive on by identify the people going about their day. Not yet having taken the pledge to God our antagonist has. Her status towards God is identified by the mention of Spring, which symbolizes the beginning of a new cycle. She is undertaking a new level of her relationship.
She then recognizes that she is not the only one, but mentioning that there aren't that many red cars. Because the cars represent others on their journey, and the red alludes to your lowest energy center, she is acknowledging that there are many of us waking up and beginning our journey's now.
Then she returns to to her own journey bringing herself back to focusing on her own actions and way of being represented by her asking God what color it wants her to be.
She then alludes the the Seed of Life by repeating the seven little numbers. Telling God she is dedicated to the practice of life.
In the second part of the chorus she recognizes the beautiful reality she can create with God, and this brings her into her heart. The feeling is so overwhelming is is necessarily questioned? How could this dream come true? Maybe these are her lucky numbers.
She then moves up into her creative Chakra. At this point she is realizing the full potential of her heart, and her whole day becomes consumed with thoughts of God. She realizes that this is the journey everyone is on by seeing her own experience in others. This realization transcends into her realization that it is God that is searching for her.
This realization brings her back to the seed of life and into her heart for her next stage of growth.
Now she sees God everywhere she goes. She is no longer searching, God expresses itself to her constantly. Which again brings her to her heart, but now she is different. She has now become one with God, offering the Seed of Life to others as a proclamation of her divinity. Realizing Unity Consciousness, she has completed her journey. Now there is no where to go, only things to be.
This is a wonderfully alchemical song.
The real genius of it is in the beautiful story that this metaphor is told through. Zen is Zen, it will express itself wherever it goes, but the wonderful description of human emotions and bonding that the metaphor is expressed through is what makes this song great.
