Have a Blast Lyrics

Caught in the mundane. The day to day, it traps us so
Tightly. Escape the cubicle cell enslaving time of the
Resident slave. Just another clone stamped in the
System who cannot think for yourself.

It's raining pens and staples on the prisoner
Questioning our real purpose. Bury your sense of worth
Beneath the desk you call your home.

Consistent overflowing with no way out. Now you're
Always entertaining thoughts meandering. Ambition
Slowly rolling, steady, downhill. A puppet never
Disobeying the strings attached from hands to toes.
From head to fucking toes.

And it's the thrill of life that enables us to flow. Locked
In the spirit's line, souls entwine, to journey on as one.
I guess it's the fear of all that keeps us on the road.
Locked in the spirit's line, souls entwine, to journey on as one.

Behold our creation... A walking dead. Step back and
Realize what you are fed. Escape the mortal mentality.
It's a lesson that can't be ignored for long. My
Destination lies within the song.

Blistering reality. Imagining a world in limelight. Never
Will it be out of my reach. I've heard the lies a million
Times, but did it ever steal from my soul? Bleeding from
The lungs, I see, a life complete above the darkest hole.

And it's the thrill of life that enables us to flow. Locked
In the spirit's line, souls entwine, to journey on as one.

A world so masochistic. Envious, broken system. The
Infant braving infested waters, collecting prominent
Rage. Torment in reality, for I leave it.

It goes deeper than that. Its saying that the government has us doing what they want so we can slowly forget about and lose our ambitions and callings in life. They keep us occupied so that we don't realize what we are. There is more to us than these bodies we've been given. We are souls. "We are the strength of the universe at heart". Yet, we don't realize it because we are merely "puppets never disobeying strings attached from hands to toes". They are telling us that what we've been fed by the government isn't the meaning of life. Life is like a lesson, can you interpret the truth? We aren't just human beings here for no reason, were souls, here to live out our desires and ambitions. Consciousness is pure energy, in fact it is the energy that moves and programs all matter, from our conscious to our mind to our body, to the world. Our consciousness is eternal, for our conscious energy will entwine with that of the God conscious, what is moving and programming all of this (we simply call it gravity, but you must realize that the bioelectricity that powers our minds is the same force holding the universe together, it is conscious energy in physical manifestation!) This song is trying to enlighten us, yet you can't even see it. Escape the mortal mentality my friends.

I wouldn't say "the Government" specifically, I'd say those who seek to control, which include more than they.

I think this one is pretty obvious. It's about getting out and loving your life to the fullest, doing what you love. Not being shackled down "beneath the desk you call your home" at whatever mundane job the majority of people work at.

Easier said than done IMO. ;D

Seems to be about being stuck in a mundane day job, a slave to the system, not realising that life is about more than being a just a puppet to a corporate entity/government/etc.

"Behold our creation; a walking dead" - everyone just zombies, they cannot think, reason or question why they continue on in this meaningless infinite cycle of work for the capitalist system which is fundamentally flawed to begin with.

"Realize what you are fed. Escape the mortal mentality. It's a lesson that can't be ignored for long. My Destination lies within the song" - But the narrator realises and wishes to escape, to have a purpose more unique, a destiny of art and creation rather than simply being a corporate slave

"Blistering reality. Imagining a world in limelight" - In this case being in a band, Periphery. However it could apply to any number of things.

A very inspirational song which I can definitely relate to :)
