Q&A
Suitcase Lyrics
I'm buried in your glow
Will you take me with you when you go?
I've been following your eyes
Roll back around and then subside
When you realize, when you realize my name
And suddenly your mood begins to change
Then you realize, then you realize I'm gone
I never said I want you...
To stay... to stay.
I hear it in your cry
(I'd like to see it through)
You dismantle my disguise
(Between the lines)
When you realize, when you realize my name
And suddenly your language starts to change
Than you realize, then you realize I'm gone
I never said I want you...
To stay... to stay... to stay... to stay.
I'm buried in your glow
Will you take me with you when you go?
I've been following your eyes
Dismantle my disguise
When you realize, when you realize my name
And suddenly your mood begins to change
Then you realize, then you realize I'm gone
I never said I'd wait here for long.
Will you take me with you when you go?
Roll back around and then subside
And suddenly your mood begins to change
Then you realize, then you realize I'm gone
I never said I want you...
(I'd like to see it through)
You dismantle my disguise
(Between the lines)
And suddenly your language starts to change
Than you realize, then you realize I'm gone
I never said I want you...
Will you take me with you when you go?
I've been following your eyes
Dismantle my disguise
And suddenly your mood begins to change
Then you realize, then you realize I'm gone
I never said I'd wait here for long.

It sounds like that first time you've broken up with someone and you see them In public. You have that awkward glance. You hear their name and you get those chills. You realize that person is in the same room with you. You're tone changes to whomever you're with. That guy/girl was awful. They did X, Y, and Z wrong. But then you think, they weren't so wrong. That maybe you could have salvaged something. You get upset. You need to leave the room. You think you need to excuse yourself, You realize this is the first time you've met since you've broken up. Its a bit awkward. You both know why you split up, but you have things to say to each other. Your inhibitions tell you to not say a word. You read each other. It's a commentary about one knowing the other so well to "dismantle" the other's defenses. You respect each other oh so well, but at the same time you realize you have ended the relationship for a reason. Each one of you takes something away from the break up. "This was one of the first songs we wrote for the record, and it's also the first time we were able to capture this type of vibe, heavy yet atmospheric, powerful yet patenting. It's about meeting someone who doesn't give two shits about you until they find out you are in a band they like or you are someone they know then start treating you differently." -Anthony Green

I'm buried in your glow Will you take me with you when you go?
(to me this part is saying that he is engulfed by someones love and he'd follow them anywhere; friend, family, etc.)
I've been following your eyes Roll back around and then subside
(I think maybe they don't see eye to eye even if Anthony is trying to, also when people lie they tend not to look you in the eye)
When you realize, when you realize my name And suddenly your mood begins to change Then you realize, then you realize I'm gone I never said I want you... to stay
(they finally see who Anthony is and this changes their opinion of him, Anthony leaves he never said he'd want them to stay in his life)
I hear it in your cry (I'd like to see it through?) You dismantle my disguise (Between the lines)
(It seems like they are arguing and through this Anthony's true emotions come out not hidden behind a disguise anymore)
When you realize, when you realize my name And suddenly your language starts to change Than you realize, then you realize I'm gone I never said I want you... to stay
(The way they talk/ act towards Anthony has changed)
I never said I'd wait here for long.
(Overall I think the song is about people who maybe used Anthony, they realized that he was famous and tried to take advantage of him or only came around when they needed something. He thought they were his real friends and would do anything for them but he finally realized what they were doing so he decides to leave them as he doesn't want them in his life anymore)
