It sounds like that first time you've broken up with someone and you see them In public. You have that awkward glance. You hear their name and you get those chills. You realize that person is in the same room with you. You're tone changes to whomever you're with. That guy/girl was awful. They did X, Y, and Z wrong. But then you think, they weren't so wrong. That maybe you could have salvaged something. You get upset. You need to leave the room. You think you need to excuse yourself, You realize this is the first time you've met since you've broken up. Its a bit awkward. You both know why you split up, but you have things to say to each other. Your inhibitions tell you to not say a word. You read each other. It's a commentary about one knowing the other so well to "dismantle" the other's defenses. (Overall I think the song is about people who maybe used Anthony, they realized that he was famous and tried to take advantage of him or only came around when they needed something. He thought they were his real friends and would do anything for them but he finally realized what they were doing so he decides to leave them as he doesn't want them in his life anymore)
