Weatherman Lyrics
His skin was soft as leather
I'm the weatherman
No one else more dedicated
I'm the weatherman
Well, hey kid
You got the right
But the choice to kill
No, Son of Sam
Will let you in to turn against
Addicted to the love of ourselves
I'm the weatherman
I tell no one else
I'm the weatherman
So go for the kill
Cause no one else cares
Go for the kill, Go for the kill
Go for the kill, Go for the kill
Go for the kill, Go for the kill
Go for the kill, Go for the kill
His skin was soft as leather
I'm the weatherman
There's no on else worth the dedication
I'm the weatherman
Cause hey kid
You got the heart without the ache
Pretentious thieves
Have you believe it's theirs to take
Addicted to the love of ourselves
I'm the weatherman
And tell no one else
I'm the weatherman
So go for the kill
Cause no one else cares
Go for the kill, Go for the kill
Go for the kill, Go for the kill
Go for the kill, Go for the kill
Go for the kill, Go for the kill
For here's the history we make
For luck of our Fathers
(If I could be anywhere I wouldn't be here)
No future or good night
(If I could be anywhere I wouldn't be here)
No future fans
(If I could be anywhere I wouldn't be here)
I sing for the melody and I sing for a reason
And I'll sing as the neglect for all that un-American
So go for the kill
Cause no one else cares
Go for the kill, Go for the kill
Go for the kill, Go for the kill
Go for the kill, Go for the kill
Go for the kill, Go for the kill
Go for the kill

I've heard that people think this is about a woman contemplating an abortion.. I can see where someone would think that, but I really don't agree.. I think it is about wanting to stand up to the government/authority.. Especially coming from someone who is in the military.. Being told to kill when you don't agree with the politics.
Your comment is definitely along the right lines. During the 1960's and 70's there was a terrorist organization called the Weather Underground, and it's members called themselves the Weathermen. Many of their bombings were in response to the escalation of the Vietnam War. That's where the "right/choice to kill" thing comes in. I honestly don't know what most of the other lyrics mean though.

This song is fucking incredible. Can't believe there's only two comments so far.
WTF? An abortion...I'm glad no one here said that or I'd rip that assessment to shreds. I heard this song last summer ('12) while parked in my car on of all things the radio, which I never listen to. It sent shivers down my spine and arms because of the rage and raw energetic emotions attached to it. It's about taking a anti-authoritarian stance. If this was a man singing these lyrics no one would think about its (obviously) perceived meaning, being abortion....smh
EmilTorres89 - Thankyou. Abortion ? Sheesh. It's about the fucking Weathermen & everything they did & stood for and what happened in America during that time.
Oh well....At least someone didn't say it was about smack....waits for inevitable 'It's about smack !' comment to be posted
So in the early 2000s I listened to Dead Sara and heard this one. Its definetly about the Weather Underground. In the late 60s and early 70s they were a Domestic terrorist/activist group. Their members formed the group out of Berkley College. They planted bombs in oil executive's offices and corporations they believed were pushing us to war or profiting from war. I think they targeted chief of police in SanFrancisco as well. I dont remember why he got targeted. They were careful to clear the buildings of people before they detonated any of their makeshift bombs. Im not sure how many were captured. Several of their members stayed in hiding through the 90s until President Bill Clinton Pardoned them. This is all from memory so cant be 100% on the acuracy but it goes something like that...
