King For a Day Lyrics
Dare me to jump off this Jersey bridge I bet you never had a Friday night like this Keep it up, keep it up Let's raise our hands
I take a look up in the sky and I see red, Red for the cancer, red for the wealthy, Red for the drink that’s mixed with suicide Everything red
Please, won’t you push me for the last time Let's scream until there’s nothing left So sick of playing, I don’t want this anymore The thought of you is no fucking fun You want a martyr, I’ll be one Because enough's enough We’re done
You told me, “Think about it” Well, I did, now I don’t wanna feel a thing anymore I’m tired of begging for the things that I want I’m over sleeping like a dog on the floor
The thing I think I love will surely bring me pain, Intoxication, paranoia, and a lot of fame
Three cheers for throwing up Pubescent drama queen, you make me sick I make it worse by drinking late
Scream until there’s nothing left So sick of playing, I don’t want to anymore The thought of you is no fucking fun You want a martyr, I’ll be one Because enough's enough We’re done
You told me, “Think about it” Well, I did, now I don’t wanna feel a thing anymore I’m tired of begging for the things that I want I’m over sleeping like a dog on the floor
Imagine living like a king someday A single night without a ghost in the walls And if the bass shakes the earth underground We'll start a new revolution now
(Alright, here we go)
Hail Mary, forgive me Blood for blood, hearts, beating Come at me, now this is war Fuck with this new beat
Now terror begins inside a bloodless vein I was just a product of the street youth rage Born in this world without a voice or say Caught in the spokes with an abandoned brain I know you well but this ain't a game Blow the smoke in a diamond shape Dying is a gift so close your eyes and rest in peace
You told me, “Think about it” Well, I did, now I don’t wanna feel a thing anymore I’m tired of begging for the things that I want I’m over sleeping like a dog on the floor
Imagine living like a king someday A single night without a ghost in the walls We are the shadows screaming, "Take us now" We'd rather die than live to rust on the ground
(Shit)

It means "Fuck you! My turn to have a say as to what is done around here!"
Hell yeah that's what it means
Hell yeah that's what it means
It is a story. It is about a person who is thinking about committing suicide by jumping off of a bridge. The person thinks life is unfair, they have never had a say. When the protagonist says "Enough's enough were done" I have 2 theories he is either going through a breakup and that is why he is committing suicide as well or he is speaking to the world/life itself. He is having this raging war in his head, asking for forgiveness over what he is about to do (Hail Mary, forgive me. blood for blood hearts beating) he is scared and does not know what to do. In the actual song the last time they sing the chorus they sound a little weary, and angry. Then the song says "We rather die then live to rust on the ground" He jumped he regrets it explaining why he randomly says "shit" at the end.
To me this means like screw society and make people pay for hurting others

This song is about getting pushed past your breaking point. Sometimes I feel like there are just too many things weighing on my mind at once and I can’t control my thoughts or even my body at times. Mike came up with the title and I thought it was a perfect way to describe the song. We wrote the music for this song with my friends Curtis Peoples and Steve Miller in a cabin that we converted into a studio in Big Bear, California. For months, fans had been tweeting at me to do a song with Kellin Quinn from the band Sleeping with Sirens. I had never met him before, but we started talking on Twitter due to our mutual fans. I asked him if he’d be down to do a song together and the rest was history! Big thanks to our boy Kellin’s for joining forces and making something special with us. ~Vic
This song basically means that people have pushed them too far and that they are practically ready to escape life so their final words are fuck you im going to a higher place get on my level and that sooner or later people will bow down to them and that even if they aren't missed when they're gone it doesn't matter because in the end they got what they wanted which is to escape
its about being on the verge of suicide, but instead of killing yourself you say " fuck it" the other way and decide to grind.
To me this is saying like I can make choices too. Not just others and now they are going to stand up and make choices too.
This song is basically telling society to suck a fat one they are basically telling us to screw society and live how we wanna live
Well this is kind of like "Smells like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana if you ask me. It's just saying "fuck this we're doing what we want and you cant tell us otherwise." You're killing us by making us fit in and be normal." The "Red for the cancer, red for the wealthy, Red for the drink that's mixed with suicide" line is saying,"you're killing us (red for blood, the wealthy are people forcing them to conform to the society and fit in, the cancer is the society that's slowly killing them, and the drink that's mixed with suicide is alcohol or drugs that are killing them.) In the "You told me think about it, well I did, Now I don't want to feel a thing at all, I'm tired of begging for the things that I want, I'm over sleeping on the floor like a dog" lines in the chorus, they're saying that they don't want to live in a world where they can't live like themselves or have their way. The "Load up on guns, bring your friends, It's fun to lose and to pretend, She's over-bored and self-assured, Oh no, I know a dirty word" verse in "Smells like Teen Spirit" is saying practically the same thing.
