Honeycomb Lyrics
How many times you say I'm through with this and you mull it over
How many times you say I'm sticking to this and you pull it over
How many times you say I'm finished with this but it starts all over
How many times you say I'm moving to this but it won't move over
x2
How many times you say I've had it today I'm just kicking boulders
You've seen the other side of unused time and numbest of feelings
How many times you say I'm through with this and you mull it over
How many times you say I'm sticking to this and you pull it over
How many times you say I'm finished with this but it starts all over
How many times you say I'm moving to this but it won't move over
How many times you say I've had it today I'm just kicking boulders
You've seen the other side of unused time and numbest of feelings
How many times you wait with nothing today the evening is over
The sun has gone and made a glowing line in your pretty brown eyes
If you fill up your heart
It spills outside
You'll find everything inside the heart up on top of the hive
And you'll fight like a dog
And you won't go why
Even all the impossible places you'll go in your life
How many times you say I've had it today I'm just kicking boulders
You've seen the other side of unused time and numbest of feelings
How many times you wait with nothing today the evening is over
The sun has gone and made a glowing line in your pretty brown eyes
If you fill up your heart

And you'll fight like a dog
And you won't go why

This is a pretty good go, some of these lyrics are somewhat inaudible. I still can't tell if its kicking/picking/ticking over/clovers/boulders I also thought it was 'up on top of the hive' but what do I know...
Anyway, this song is pretty fucking brilliant, I wasn't sure how much I was going to like their new stuff, I've always been more of a fan of Sung Tongs/Feels (its all relative, MPP and SJ are also great) but this and Gotham are as good, just another direction.
I'm more of a Strawberry Jam/Feels guy, so both Honeycomb and Gotham are real treats for me. It's nice to have Deakin's guitars back!

Nice job with the lyrics, though I think the lines toward the end are more like this:
If you fill up your heart It spills outside You'll find everything inside the heart on top of the hive And you'll fight like a dog And you won't know why Even all the impossible places you'll go in your life
There are a few shouts of "Life" toward the end as well.
And actually it sounds like the opening verse is this:

Thanks! I made most of your corrections, though I'm pretty sure it's "won't go why" instead of "won't know why" (even though it doesn't make much sense).

It's definitely you've, not to, and I'm pretty sure it's numbest of feelings.
'You've seen the other side of unused time, the numbest of feelings'
Then, I'm pretty sure this part is:
'How many times do you wait, but nothing today, then evening is over. The sun is gone and made a glowing line in your pretty brown eyes.'
Seems to make the most sense.
Sorry, forgot to add, that at the end Avey yells Life a couple times, then Hive a couple times.

As far as meaning goes:
As far as meaning, I believe it's about never giving up, love, and working together. Honeycomb is the world/community/people. You'll go through hardships, repeating past mistakes, not being able to see things through to the end, etc. But, if you fill up your heart, it spills outside, meaning if your needs are met and your happy, you will help other people, or even just positively influence them by your attitude.
So not only are you taking care of yourself and loving yourself, but as you do that it affects those around you. That love, happiness, and value that you have is spreading, and it starts to fill up, until it reaches the top of the hive.
It's about having a fulfilling life, because your being positive has spread to all those around you. Hence the Life/Hive interchanging at the end.
but you won't go wild*
it means if you follow yr heart yr'll do the right thing and won't end up deathly or dead not matter what fucked up situations you may find.
This is how I hear the lyrics - Knows news Go go How many times do you say ‘I’m through with this’ and you mull it over? How many times do you say ‘I’m sticking to this’ and you pull it over? 'fight like a dog.' i feel like that means, on some level, 'i'm going to tell you to your face.' fight like a dog...as opposed to people who are catty. cat's don't really fight. they're...catty. just a thought. if i really have a problem with someone, i want them to know about it...in a direct manner. different than 'venting' which i also do constantly, but i'm saying a REAL problem.
This is how I hear the lyrics. This song seems very much to be about life and the perspective we take on it. Avey loves to use nature as metaphor for all he writes about, which is where I think a lot of AC’s brilliance comes from them with their almost naive nature themes yet complex music structures. This song is no different. Hive-world, bees-us. Thus I think there is a spiritual element to this song as Avey has suffered some losses and battles in recent years, he no doubt has been down and this songs seems almost as though he’s resigned to certain things and the way of life. Almost an acceptance song with lines such as ‘you won’t go ‘why?’, simply saying not to question things, knowing that if he does good (‘fill up your heart’) things will work out (‘you’ll find everything inside the heart on top of the hive’). Also an interesting element to the song as another old trick of AC’s with the changing of words and lines based on their sound — think sports brother/support your brother etc. Each one of their bridges seem to get more trying, perhaps similar to how life gets more difficult with age. Going from ‘kicking mole hills’ to ‘kicking boulders’ to ‘can’t control us’.
