If this is the proper lyrics and not just something people keep copy pasting from every other lyrics site, then it doesn't make any sense at all and my version of the song is the only one which futures real sentences. But even when about 70% of the lyrics are easy to make out, the rest are mainly just random guesses.
Anyway, as for what the lyrics mean; it's basically nothing but "Live each day as it comes. Enjoy what you get and be sure to have someone to share it with".
Agreed the lyrics is flawed. I can read more of a sense of regret, of a yearning for a complete simple/happy outcome potentially. Yet the singer doesn't want to say or express any regret explicitly. She chose to put on a nonchalant facade to appear strong. It aches my heart. The current life might still be joyful and worth living but it's a world away from the one that you can spend with him/her. You don't know if it's true so you keep wondering
