Seasons Lyrics

I'm searching through emptiness
And try to forget us in vain
The light of the dark setting sun
Will bring my sadness to an end

Voices cry out through the fear and the doubt
As we wait for our lives to be better

The words are dying in the night
No winter lasts forever
The seasons pass and the sunlight will shine
On my life again
So let the past now burn down in flames

Locked in a prison, in a world of living fear
On the edge of my destruction, marching on
Still suffering darkness in the dreams of life not meant to be
As I lie awake and curse the rising sun

Sadness inside from the truth that she hides
And this pain in my heart for no reason

The words are dying in the night
No winter lasts forever
The seasons pass and the sunlight will shine
On my life again
So let the past now burn down in flames

Stare into my eyes
I'm burning with lust and desire
Won't you come down and
Let yourself go in the fire
So leave the past behind

Voices cry out through the fear and the doubt
As we wait for our lives to be better

The words are dying in the night
No winter lasts forever
The seasons pass and the sunlight will shine
On my life again
So leave the past behind

The dark clouds fading from my mind
No pain will last forever
The seasons pass and the sunlight will shine
On my life again
So let the past now burn down in flames
Now burn down in flames

Yhat LyricFind thing is really goddamn annoying. This isn't displaying the lyrics I submitted, it's messed with it and is showing the lyrics for the ACOUSTIC version of the song. The normal version has an extra piece of lyrics in it, and doesn't have all those "Ooooh"s in it. Since this site is a piece of garbage, I'll post the actual lyrics here:

I'm searching through emptiness And trying to forget us in vain The light of the dark setting sun Will bring my sadness to an end

Voices cry out through the fear and the dark As we wait for our lives to be better

[Chorus:] The worlds are dying in the night No winter lasts forever The seasons pass and sunlight will shine on my life again So let the past now burn down in flames

Locked in prison, in a world of living fear On the edge of my destruction, marching on Still suffer in darkness, with the dreams of life not meant to be As I lie awake and curse the rising sun

Sadness in time for the truth that she hides And this pain in my heart for no reason

[Chorus]

Stare into my eyes I'm burning with lust and desire Won't you come down And let yourself go in the fire So leave the past behind

[solo]

Voices cry out through the fear and the dark As we wait for our lives to be better

The worlds are dying in the night No winter lasts forever The seasons pass and sunlight will shine on my life again So leave the past behind

The dark clouds fading from my mind No pain will last forever The seasons pass and sunlight will shine on my life again So let the past now burn down in flames Now burn down in flames

this song is about the ending of the nuclear winter described in most parts of the album and the main protagonist forgetting his past and looking to the future.

Song Meaning

@TheGreatNinjaMan I think your answer there is adequate and supported, though I do disagree. There are a couple of other clues throughout the song that seem to suggest that this is more about a broken heart and the nuclear winter imagery might very well just be a metaphor for that broken heart and ensuing recovery. I'm not very familiar with the other songs, so I don't know enough about them.

This is a beautiful song, and if you hear the drum beats, you can tell Dragonforce didnt speed it up like they, and most other power metal bands have done with their songs.
