I Miss The Misery Lyrics

I've been a mess since your stay
I've been a wreck since your change
Don't let me get in your way
I miss the lies and the pain
The fights that keep us awake

I'm telling you I miss the bad things
The way you hate me
I miss the screaming
And the way that you blame me
I miss the phone call
When it's your fault
I miss the late nights
I don't miss you at all

I like the kick in the face
And the things you do to me
I love the way that it hurts
I don't miss you I miss the misery

I tried but I just can't take it
I'd rather fight than just fake it
You know that I've had enough
I dare you to call my bluff
Can't take too much of a good thing

I'm telling you I miss the bad things
The way you hate me
I miss the screaming
And the way that you blame me
I miss the phone call
When it's your fault
I miss the late nights
I don't miss you at all

I like the kick in the face
And the things you do to me
I love the way that it hurts
I don't miss you I miss the misery

Just know that I'll make you hurt
I miss the lies and the pain that you did to me
Will you tell me you'll make it hurt
I'd rather fight all night than watch the tv
I hate that feeling inside
You tell me how hard you'll try
But when we're out of words
I miss the misery

It's the bad things
The way you hate me
I miss the screaming
And the way that you blame me
I miss the rough sex
That leaves me a mess
I miss the feeling of the pain in my chest
I miss the phone call
When it's your fault
I miss the late nights
I don't miss you at all

I like the kick in the face
And the things you do to me
I love the way that it hurts
I don't miss you I miss the misery
I miss the misery

This song refers to the experience of this composer who sings about her miserable days, when she was treated very badly, yet ironically, she misses it.

I believe she's being sarcastic in her lyrics cause the guy is a douchebag. However, in some moments the way I intrepet the song as "I effing hate this guy but sometimes I miss him even if times were tough what if we could've worked it out". Great song its fun I love it.

Its all about being addicted to the craziness of some relationships! Its not about the dude its about the situation....my thoughts anyway.

For my view, she is totally being sarcastic. Describing how horrible it was having a relationship with some guy/girl who was very abusive. Those parts of when she says "I Miss..." it totally means the other way around of that "I don't miss it". And there are some parts where she is being serious like the first sentences of that it was a bad choice staying with you and it got worse after time cause he/she changed. Last, that part of "i don't miss you i miss the misery" is half serious half sarcastic. As in "I sure as hell don't miss you and less likely will i miss having an abusive relationship with you."

BTW, guys are more abusive than girls in or not in relationships. I mean really, what guy wouldn't like to have fun with a sexually abusive girl.

In this song the speaker is saying she's accepting the love she thinks she deserves and hinting at a backstory that suggests she was a child of a bad relationship but the parents stayed together so she thought that was what love was supposed to be so she misses what she thinks she deserves not the person himself she misses the love or possibly the speaker is being sarcastic to the man and saying that if i admitted i missed you i'd being saying i missed an abuser so no i don't miss you cause she states no i don't miss you i miss the misery

The guy in this relationship may probably spent one in jail, certainly went to rehab in the process, not the soft-cushy version either, has finished his time, likely under probation, and has since then embraced changing his life, some 12 step meetings and steps, as this couple was apart and both thinking they’re needing what they had, he visits. Things go good for a bit, she’s trying to keep her using down in front of him, they have sex, she’s growing tired of the boring pace and the crazy they both engaged in (not just her, Ladies, lol), but he’s obviously changed. They obviously would go out and make scenes or just trash their place till the cops were called, but now he won’t risk becoming what he’s left behind, doing more time, jeopardizing the mental and emotion detoxing, or what he can do now... and she’s understandably confused, hurt and angry for being denied what she wants and thinks is normal, she’s angry with him.

The composer may have been this person, or worked with a friend who gets it... empathy comes in surprising ways sometimes.

Although I’ve seen, and lived parts of the situations I described below, I had to give points to the two who expressed it was all full-on-sarcasm mixed with some regret for what they’d hoped for in that relationship.

Even if penciled first hand, I agree the song was likely written from a later point of view.

To me it seems like this she likes everything about the relationship, except the guy himself.
