Don't listen what your girlfriend says
She reads those magazines
That say you failed the test
You don't have what she needs
I slither like a viper
And get you by the neck
I know a thousand ways to help you forget about her

That bitch can eat her heart out
Love bites, but so do I, so do I
Love bites, but so do I, so do I
Love bites

My lips are pale and vicious
You're foaming at the mouth
You've suffered in the darkness
I'll suck the pain right out
So come and taste the reason
I'm nothing like the rest
I kiss you in a way you'll never forget about me

That chick can eat her heart out
Love bites, but so do I, so do I
Love bites, but so do I, so do I, so do I

It checks you in and kicks you down
And chews you up and spits you out
It messes with your sanity by twisting all your thoughts around
They say it's blind they say it waits but every time it seals your fate
And now it's got you by the balls it won't let go until you fall
I was down and out, got up I said, "Hey love I've had enough"
I've felt pleasure without pain
My soul you'll never tame

Love bites, but so do I
Love bites, but so do I, so do I
Love bites, but so do I, so do I, so do I
Love bites, but so do I, so do I
Love bites
Love bites

Though I like the song and think it's catchy, it does make the singer seem pretty pathetic, IMO. Like she's desperate to get some other girl's leftovers.

    Song Meaning

This is all taken from their official website...

“love bites (so do i)” is a storming rocker that illustrates hale’s individuality, sense of humor, and willingness to represent young women in today’s fast-paced society.

“i was talking to this little girl over twitter who was going through her first breakup, and she was asking me for advice,” recalls hale, who regularly interacts with her fans online. “she typed ‘love bites,’ and i replied, ‘well, so do you, darling. You can still bite back. ’ it was meant to be an empowering song for people when love goes down the tubes, and i think it’s a very realistic way of looking at relationships. Nobody talks about all the crap you have to do to keep something alive or just deal with your boyfriend or girlfriend. They always talk about falling in love or having your heart broken. So this is a way of saying, yes, everything can end, but it’s rejuvenating to stand up and go, ‘this sucks right now, but it’s not going to take me down with it. ’”

    My Opinion

For the people who are saying it's about stealing a boyfriend, I think they need to listen closer; The song starts out with the guy getting dumped by his girlfriend, apparently because of something dumb like a cosmo quiz, and she's both giving advice on how to handle the bad feelings (essentially saying "love bites, but so do I" or "fight back") and also expressing an attraction to the guy. Rebound might not be the classiest thing ever, but hey, gotta love a girl who knows what she wants, right?

    My Interpretation

I think its supposed to be like she's liked this guy, and she's wanted to be with him. And now that this girl has hurt him so bad, she's basically saying "fuck you" showing her that she's hot and he's all hers now. That she's stupid for leaving him and look what she could have had with him but now its hers. I like it (: lol

I Think This Song Is About A Girl Telling Her Friend That She Hates His Girl Friend And That She's No Good For Him. She's Trying To Show Him That He's Better Off With Her {The Speaker}. Feel Free To Disagree.

This song just pisses me off because it's soooooo good and has the best scream-singing and use of instruments the band's ever done and it makes me sweat it's so fast, but the lyrics are about her trying to steal another woman's man, like what the hell, the song sounds really empowering and sexy but the lyrics could've been so good if they just weren't about infidelity. Heartbreaking. I think they could've done a lot better. If I ever become a millionaire I'm gonna convince them to make an alternate version of this song that is about a woman seducing a SINGLE dude and how powerless he is to her charms, rather than about how much of a bitch the other woman is. This would honestly be one of my favorite songs if it weren't for the non-chorus lyrics, istg.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
