Autumn Tree Lyrics
under the autumn tree
the chair where you would swing
a yard so full of leaves
comfort me
a man that resembles me
watching his young lady sleep
now i'm off to dream
comfort me
is this my old shape, my mind is away,
how long have you been gone
the cold winter aged the soft of your face
and i cant move on
market morning sun
fish from an early hunt
i wait but you're gone
linger on
is this my old shape, my mind is away,
how long have you been gone
the cold winter aged the soft of your face
and i cant move on
linger on
linger on
i cant move on
the chair where you would swing
a yard so full of leaves
comfort me
watching his young lady sleep
now i'm off to dream
comfort me
how long have you been gone
the cold winter aged the soft of your face
and i cant move on
fish from an early hunt
i wait but you're gone
linger on
how long have you been gone
the cold winter aged the soft of your face
and i cant move on
linger on
i cant move on

As someone who has just stumbled upon Milo Greene, I can say that this song along with whole album is great.
For this song, I feel it's someone who has just recently gotten out of a relationship, and they still has the same tendencies going into the future days with out this person, I.e waiting for a call, going to a place they frequently visited with their past partner and instantly searching for them to tell them about that one time they were there. only to realize they aren't there.
and they are wondering if this feeling will ever pass or will it be something that they will have to deal with the rest of their life, and right now they can't move on.
how am i the only one that has commented on this... i love milo greene and this song is amazing.
They're the 8th wonder of the world. Maybe there was just too much bands like them at the time of their greatness. Or they didn't want to get signed. Either way ... they are super great.

Maybe it is a man experiencing dementia. OR I am thinking this is told from the perspective of a man who's wife has died. They had a child but he can't really get back to his old self. Or maybe she is alive and he can't find her. Something happened and she left him with their baby.
I don't know what the actual reason behind the song is, but it reminds me of my dad who died when I was 9. Im 17 now and my mom always says how I look like my dad. "A man that resembles me" This song reminds me of my father in general. It's pretty sad though.
I think it's about a man who has grown older and hasn't realized time passing him by. He tries to find nostalgia in things he used to do when he was younger but he cannot bring back the old him of days passed long ago.
