Noctourniquet Lyrics
made my bed in drought of barrel
I haven't shot this thing in years
do you think I'll fold?
calloused hands of detriment
from a cross bow flinch of gasping air
do you think I'll...
Solomon, don't fall apart
their words have made the perfect burden
Solomon, your hollow heart
a nomadic void of halcyon youth
prenatal at the hips where we once joined
separated by the scalpel when we were young
do you think I'll fold?
held under the water in a breathless troth
buried in the plot of your front steps
do you think I'll fold?
incinerate the faith that you were taught
incinerate your crone of useless flesh
do you think I'll...
Solomon, don't fall apart
their words have made the perfect burden
Solomon your hollow heart
a nomadic void of halcyon youth
and if this life you long to flee
you can stop the rain from falling
tie it on in your mind
it's your noctourniquet
and in your file will it read
that you caved into the night?
tie it on in your mind
it's your noctourniquet
made my bed in drought of barrel
I haven't shot this thing in years
do you think I'll fold?
bucolic hymns that frolic on your hissing tongue
the rivalry of siblings cut from saffron cloth
do you think I'll fold?
I reach right through the pavement with the shortest straw
never a dull blade in your mother's drawer
do you think I'll fold?
place it in the thirst of her endless flask
the iridescent poison will quench foreboding
do you think that...
Solomon, don't fall apart
their words have made the perfect burden
Solomon, your hollow heart
a nomadic void of halcyon youth
Solomon, don't fall apart
their words have made the perfect burden
Solomon, your hollow heart
no matter what it takes, no matter what it takes for you
I haven't shot this thing in years
do you think I'll fold?
from a cross bow flinch of gasping air
do you think I'll...
their words have made the perfect burden
Solomon, your hollow heart
a nomadic void of halcyon youth
separated by the scalpel when we were young
do you think I'll fold?
buried in the plot of your front steps
do you think I'll fold?
incinerate your crone of useless flesh
do you think I'll...
their words have made the perfect burden
Solomon your hollow heart
a nomadic void of halcyon youth
you can stop the rain from falling
tie it on in your mind
it's your noctourniquet
that you caved into the night?
tie it on in your mind
it's your noctourniquet
I haven't shot this thing in years
do you think I'll fold?
the rivalry of siblings cut from saffron cloth
do you think I'll fold?
never a dull blade in your mother's drawer
do you think I'll fold?

their words have made the perfect burden
Solomon, your hollow heart

To me this song seems to be about suicide. The opening lines (which are repeated several times) seem to lead to this theory, "I haven't shot this thing in years. Do you think I'll fold?" seems to be the narrator holding the gun to his head while looking back on his life before he pulls the trigger, asking himself or the person who led him to this if they think he's too weak to go through with it. There is a lot of regret, pain, and darkness shrouded in these lyrics. Although cryptic as they are, I feel they are very straightforward unlike a few entries in this beautiful album.
He says "and in this life you'll long to flee. Its about someone close to him (likely siamese twin sister Lavera separated at birth) her losing faith and calling it quits on life. He won't give up though on her or his own life...won't fold. Saffron, Faith and Useless Crown of Flesh bother me because I'm afraid Cedric is may be a faithful Christian which I would be very disappointed seeing as god is an invention of human psychology and religion a cash gimmick. I personally interpret the song as a man cutting lose of his former young self that 'believed' and him saying he won't fold means, he let fantasy dissuade him from reason and scrutiny, that his sister is the faithful one who has lost sanity.
Nevermind. These lyris are way off. God damn Bixler needs to write a book explaining his fucking albums 1st to last, every syllable! I knew he was saying Solomon bc the album is about that poem (wikipedia) . I live this song and many many others by them
