(I Hate) Everything About You (Stripped Version) Lyrics
Every time we lie awake
After every hit we take
Every feeling that I get
But I haven't missed you yet
Every roommate kept awake
By every sigh and scream we make
All the feelings that I get
But I still don't miss you yet
Only when I stop to think about it
I hate everything about you
Why do I love you?
I hate everything about you
Why do I love you?
Every time we lie awake
After every hit we take
Every feeling that I get
But I haven't missed you yet
Only when I stop to think about it
I hate everything about you
Why do I love you?
I hate everything about you
Why do I love you?
Only when I stop to think
About you, I know
Only when you stop to think
About me, do you know?
I hate everything about you
Why do I love you?
You hate everything about me
Why do you love me?
I hate
You hate
I hate
You love me
I hate everything about you
Why do I love you?
After every hit we take
Every feeling that I get
But I haven't missed you yet
By every sigh and scream we make
All the feelings that I get
But I still don't miss you yet
Why do I love you?
I hate everything about you
Why do I love you?
After every hit we take
Every feeling that I get
But I haven't missed you yet
Why do I love you?
I hate everything about you
Why do I love you?
About you, I know
Only when you stop to think
About me, do you know?
Why do I love you?
You hate everything about me
Why do you love me?
You hate
I hate
You love me
Why do I love you?

I've never understood why he hates everything about somebody and still wants to be around that person If anyone can ease my misunderstanding I would really appreciate it
@shikamaru1 Love and hate don't cancel each other. It's what we call ambivalence. The singer from this band was an OxyCotin addict, and in many of the band's songs he talked about this situation (his feelings, rehab, etc). I think this is one of those songs, but idk for sure. Seems like it, because someone may hate what a drug turns them into, but they loved it since the moment they first took it (the pleasant effects the drug has).

Another possibility for this song is an abusive relationship topic. You know, it's hard for a children with a violent father (this is just an example) to just hate him. It's a very complex situation, especially if the child is very young and not capable of understanding much.
Whatever, I don't want this to be so long. Just sharing my opinion :)
I like this. The acoustic version is better.
OK, here's my idea of the meaning, but I could be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off.
Anyway, from the screams and bothering the roommate, it's about a relationship involving sex. (Wow, hard to figure that out, although perhaps I should use the word "hard." LOL). He enjoys his time with her, but once she's not with him he feels shame or self-hated. Perhaps it's because he's a legally married dude, or he's not straight, or he has a steady girlfriend. Who knows.
I think the "I love you" has to do with the easy sex he has with her perhaps. The "you" doesn't represent a person, rather the actions of sex, or not being alone, or enjoying the thrill of the chase and the risk of getting caught, etc.
Who knows, but I at least tried. Good song, by the way.
