Five Colours in Her Hair Lyrics

Do do do do do do
Do do do do do do
Do do do do do do

She's got a lip ring and five colours in her hair
Not into fashion but I love the clothes she wears
Her tattoo's always hidden by her underwear
She don't care

Everybody wants to know her name
I threw a house party and she came
Everyone asked me
Who the hell is she?
That weirdo with five colours in her hair

She's just a loner with a sexy attitude
I'd like to bone her 'cause she puts me in the mood
The rumors spreading round that she cooks in the nude
But she don't care, she don't care

Everybody wants to know her name
How does she cope with her new found fame?
Everyone asks me
Who the hell is she?
That weirdo with five colours in her hair

She was all I thought about
The girl I couldn't live without
But then she went insane,
She couldn't take the fame
She said I was to blame
She'd had enough
And shaved five colours off
And now she's just a weirdo with no name

Everybody wants to know her name
How does she cope with her new found fame?
Everyone asks me
Who the hell is she
That weirdo with five colours in her hair

Do do do do do do
Do do do do do do
Do do do do do do

I think "Five colours in her hair" is an analogy. I think he's singing about a girl who was totally different to everyone else, and he loved her for that.

Unfortunatly, she got a lot of pressure from those people who think you have to fit in to get anywhere (no offense to anyone) and ended up following another of those "social cliches" because she was pressured into it.

As for "She couldn't take the fame, she said I was to blame" and "I threw a house party and she came" I think that was a referance to him introducing her to his mates, and they were the ones pressuring her.

its just a song, why are people getting so worked up about the lyrics, i mean the guys were young when they wrote it, im sure if anyone tried to write a song at there age it wouldn't be the best song in the world, also i cant understand why people comment on lyrics that they dislike because they dislike the band, seriously, its a waste of time

i for one enjoyed this song, its good for parties and mcfly were fantastic when they supported busted...

dougiepoynter, what planet are you from? Tons of crappy pop groups have had massive success with their first album, because they are new and are currently in the public consciousness. Give it a few months and McFly will disappear.

Why?

Simple. Because they are totally one dimensional. They lack even the most remote level of substance and don't care about music. They are a bunch of chancers, looking for a quick way to get rich and sad to say, they have found it.

Lets not make the mistake of buying into the hype on this one. McFly are no less disposable than Westlife or BoyZone, before them. The difference is, that right now, people have grown tired of watching a bunch of guys, standing around singing meaningless pop songs. Suddenly, pop fans are only interested in watching a bunch of guys, jumping around with guitars, singing meaningless pop songs, instead.

It won't last. The mainstream has always been fickle and they will soon grow tired of McFly, Rooster, et al, at which point, they will move onto the next fad, whatever shape that happens to take.

Quiffporn, what you have said here has made you look like a fool. McFly are still here after a few years. They survived. HAH !

It's quite funny now, because this year is McFly's 10 year anniversary and they're still going strong. Playing at Wembley in May, so yeah. Haha.

The song's about a girl who has 5 colors in her hair at the start of the Emo wave of the early 2000s, or at least that's a result of when the song came out. She got famous thanks to the narrator, or at least she blames him for getting her famous. She can't handle it, so she does some crazy shit like shaving her head as a result. If anyone thinks that this doesn't happen, look at Disney Channel stars. Most of the girls go fucking nuts, mostly as a result of trying to look "mature." Anyways, she changes her look & now no one wants any piece of her & she gives up her fame to be a nobody. Now, this song probably isn't McFly's best, but it's catchy as all hell & does a good job at telling a story, which is what you want from a song. I definitely like the Pop Punk version more than the original, since I think it fits the song & the time period the song came out in better as I've previously pointed out. It also has better production values. It's definitely a song that has more going on than a lot of the previous commenters are giving credit. It's not too serious, or too goofy. I think it works pretty well.

I guess I'll start off by saying that this song is about Sooz from As If. Tom says that he and Danny wrote it when they were in a hotel room and they watched endless episodes of it, but then they saw an interview with her afterwards looking normal and she didn't look as fit.

this song has a really cool bass line. This song is a bit old now and the video was awful, but you have to give them some credit for it being number 1 for 2 weeks. It's obvious what this song was about..so i won't go into that......i think they released this first to show everyone that they didn't think they were punk or rock, but purely pop, which they were ok with , and i think that's cool, this is probably the most "pop" cd i have, but if they had pretended to be punk or whatever i never would have bought it. Danny is a pretty good guitarist for a 17 year old (he was when they released this song anyway) not the best, true, but on the album there are some pretty good lead solos on the album, which is better than some bands who's complete album collection is power chords. The solo in that girl, amazing live.

@aimz* I mean, the album had a mix of Pop Rock & Surf Rock, so I don't know what you were thinking with them being just pure Pop,

I have to say, I like this band. And before you call me uneducated and follow it up with some rather unimaginative expletives, just hear me out.

Not all people like McFly. Fair enough, there is not a single group or solo artist that every single person on the planet adores.

But to waste so much time and energy putting down bands you don't like on the internet...I mean, honestly, do you people not have social lives? And is ranting about bands you don't care about actually ENTERTAINMENT to you? Do you honestly get joy out of this?

If yes, then not only do you have a really warped sense of humour, but you probably also need professional help.

Not all of us like hearing 'serious' music 24/7. Sometimes it's nice to just put something light and positive into the CD player and relax, as averse to contemplating slitting your wrists over a metal track about how much the singer hates his parents.

If you actually knew the first thing about music (and I mean more than just being able to name the members of the band) then you'd actually hear that this stuff isn't badly written at all, in fact it's quite good.

I should know, I'm a professional classically trained musician and I've been studying music ever since I learnt to read.

So grow up and let us enjoy ourselves.
