Chimera Lyrics
you say it's all about intention
a chimera in disguise
its about your life, the greed
the loneliness it needs now
just to say you;ve claimed the prize
of letting go...
you say you're all about your virtue
but it's a harlequin of shame
you look around confused by the sound
of intention gone aground now
because it's all about the fame
and now you're letting go
but it's a little late
there's little time to show
so tell me now...
would you do it all again...
could you do it all again...
you say it's all about
forgiveness now...
well you can grovel if you'd like
but turn around,
do you hear that sound
that's integrity gone aground now
in the name of sacrifice
a chimera in disguise
its about your life, the greed
the loneliness it needs now
just to say you;ve claimed the prize
of letting go...
but it's a harlequin of shame
you look around confused by the sound
of intention gone aground now
because it's all about the fame
but it's a little late
there's little time to show
would you do it all again...
could you do it all again...
forgiveness now...
well you can grovel if you'd like
but turn around,
do you hear that sound
that's integrity gone aground now
in the name of sacrifice

This song helped me to heal and process the grief I had over an abortion I consented to despite loving my baby. The integrity gone aground in the name of sacrifice. How I ignored myself and my needs and made a sacrifice for the baby's father because he told me I didn't have a right to make someone be a father who didn't want to be. And my prize was grief and being stuck in a state of crisis because I was having a crisis going along with the abortion and I lived that state until many years later when I finally named it what it was and let the crisis go. I think the Would you do it all again, could you do it all again is important for me to remember because my life is blessed. And none of what I have now would have been possible had I chose to keep my baby. So as much as I had pain and grief to deal with. This was one of the key albums to help me heal. Heaven Coming Down. The Halcyon Days, The Messenger, Samsara and A Slight Attack were my favorites.
interesting song, good as well. Surprised no comments.
