Based on the video and the song lyrics I believe "Can't Speak" is referring to all the people that have followed terrible leaders out of fear... fear that if they do speak up they could be persecuted the way they are now persecuting the "other" people. I'm sure there were many young German soldiers that had felt "already dead" that were "thinking of a suicide". This analogy also works with any solider in any war.. or any time someone doesn't speak up and watches and/or participates in horrific acts upon others.

I used to think this song sounded a little bit like a demonic possession song (because of who sings it) but now that I watched the other video I think it might be more like, seeing all the horrible stuff that goes on in the world, and a person can just get completely hopeless... and there's just nothing you can do about it... i think this song is also about an impending suicide: "gotta leave before I live to regret it" "keep thinking of suicide" kinda like a suicide note in a song or something..

to me, it's how the government are hypocrites by saying "Ya, you can say and do and think anything as long as it's not illegal.", but then they supress satanists, atheists and even Glenn the man himself (Bill Clinton tried to have him hunted down). Yet sometimes, your point of view is so unpopular that it may as well be banned, as in anti-enviromentalism, but anyhow, this is a song that is meant to mean something different to each person, so that's why people appreciate it i think.

Personaly I see this song about society being ristricting in the laws they place...but for Glenn I see it as him singing about how being in the spot light all the time is restricting and dosen't allow you to change your opinions or Ideas on certain things (can't hide, or change your mind).

It's about living under communism or an oppressive leadership. You are censored for speaking truth. Your frustration and anger cannot be expressed; you become depressed.

wow i cant believe im the first to comment on this song. I love it, just the way its so siplistically laid out but it digs deep. It portrays that not happy not sad emotion that we always have. good song later

deff. one of those who cars kidna feeling....it also reminds me of metallica "one" which was about the book "johny got his gun" a mans vison hearing speaking legs and arms were taken away from him by a terrible landmine accident....sorta makes me thnk of that.....or maybe even the whole thought u get right b4 u kill urslef or attempted suicide, ive been there b4 and this song can reflect almost all the emotion u feel.....nothing

great song, the video displayes many worldly leaders and events and such and at the end glenn gets his body locked into a metal suit, what i believe is that this song shows how people act as they want to help out but they never do cause they shy fom it and keep their emotions inside. this barely makes sence but you gotta view the video to take notice of some things yea haha

I heard this is basically "Let It Be Captured" played backwards.

song is hypnotic. picture comes to mind: viewing the world with stiched mouth, and not being able to do anything about it. its all so fucked up.
