Kiss of Death Lyrics

Let's go out and have some fun
I know, you know, we believe in a land of love
I know, you know, we believe in a land of love
I, I, I, I, I, I, I
I, I, I, I, I, I, I
Tonight
Pleasure zone
Often pretending
Have some fun
I know, you know, we believe in a land of love
I know, you know, we believe in

Is his friend "Johnny"? IE The one he doesn't want to point the gun at him in "1963'. I'm not sure if the chronology though.

My Interpretation

Or it could be about his alter-ego. If you look at some of the lines it could be. Especially "I stood there beside myself".

My Opinion

Whether it's true or not, I don't know, but I had always heard it was about a heroin addiction. The "gun" he's referring to is the syringe. You see numerous quasi-eroin-addiction songs from this poin onwards to about the late '80's/early '90's... along about the time Technique came out. By the time Republic came out, all such innuendoes were gone from the lyrics.
