Museum of Flight Lyrics

Falling to the ground
I was anxious to be found
You can always go home
To the safety of your cloud

Don't let go
I need you to hang around
I am so broke
And foolishly in love

I turned around to love revealing
What did I learn, it's not that easy
When you get burned and go on burning loud

Falling into sound
Is that love still feeding back?
One day we will go home
To the safety of our clouds

Don't let go
I need you to hang around
I'm so broke
And foolishly in love

I turned around, my life was changing
What did I learn, it's not that easy
When you get burned and go on burning loud

Don't let go
I need you to hang around
I'm so broke
And foolishly in love

I turned around, my life was changing
What did I learn, it's not that easy
When you get burned and go on burning loud

I think this song is simply about a relationship, probably in the early stages of one, where you are really infatuated with someone but you run into a few speed bumps that may make you or your partner question whether it can last. Despite this, you are pleading for the other not to give up ("Don't let go, I need you to hang around")

"so broke" - emotionally broken (from whatever issue is causing the problem)

"foolishly in love" - not necessarily actually foolish, just some might think it foolish to be "in love" this early on or despite the issues

"What did I learn? That it's not that easy" - relationships are hard

"when you get burned, then go on burning loud" - not completely sure what this means - could be a couple of things...but I think it more likely means that when you get hurt, it hurts a lot and someone can really tell that you are hurt (because you are "burning loud", i.e. "wearing it on your sleeve")

TL;DR - Love is hard, but I want to make this thing work

My Interpretation

this song is so beautiful it makes me want to fall in love and be OK with it. The meaning seems fairly straightforward, Falling in love, or into light is a big risk with great reward, and one can get burned.

This song to me, is Damien at his most pop friendly, the song sounds so classic and hooky its great.

Aaahhh.

is that "lust" defeating path (maybe?)

Lyric Correction

It is not "go on burning light."

It is "When you get burned and no longer in love."

Also Amandolin has it correct with the lust. You can clearly hear the t.

Lyric Correction

Never mind. I'm pretty sure the last word is love. It could be no longer in love or go on burning love.

"It's not that easy / when you get burned / and go on burning light"

This is my favorite lyric in the song. It's a smart play on the word "burn" - burning light, as in a candle, means to remain light and positive. Beautiful way of phrasing how it's hard to "burn light" after you've suffered pain.
