Take Me Home Lyrics
Take me home
Tend to me
Baby, lay me down easy
For I have grown weary on my own
All alone
I wither and I bruise
I run my mouth like a fool
I'll be so quiet for you
Look like a child for you
Be like a shadow of a shadow
Of a shadow for you
Take me home
Tend to me
Baby, lay me down easy
For I have grown weary on my own
All alone
I wander aimless
I work the corner of an endless grid
I'll be so still for you
Like a dead dog
Lay there 'til my eyes pop
All for you
Tend to me
Baby, lay me down easy
For I have grown weary on my own
I wither and I bruise
I run my mouth like a fool
Look like a child for you
Be like a shadow of a shadow
Of a shadow for you
Tend to me
Baby, lay me down easy
For I have grown weary on my own
I wander aimless
I work the corner of an endless grid
Like a dead dog
Lay there 'til my eyes pop
All for you

I love love love this song. but I think the last few lyrics are incorrect.
Believe he says,
"I'll be so still for you Like a Degas until my eyes pop ohhh all for you..."
From the album booklet:
Take me home Tend to me Baby, lay me down easy For I have grown weary on my own
All alone I wither and I bruise I run my mouth like a fool
I'll be so quiet for you Look like a child for you Be like a shadow of a shadow Of a shadow for you
Take me home Tend to me Baby, lay me down easy For I have grown weary on my own
All alone I wander aimless I work the corner of an endless grid
I'll be so still for you Like a dead dog Lay there 'til my eyes pop All for you
Great song.
I think it's about not wanting to be alone anymore so bad that you are willing to submit to whatever someone wants from you. Or maybe just being so invisible/non-confrontational that thy wont even notice or think to leave you. You can just slip through the cracks.
He used to speak his mind ("run my mouth like a fool"), but he is willing to just "be so quite for you...be like a shadow of a shadow for you"). Whatever he needs to do to make sure the other person doesn't leave him because he's grown weary on his own.
