There are so many things that come to mind when I listen to this song and to Voyage (album) in general.
Voyage is all about having hope, re-living moments, holding onto something you still believe can happen. Heal your wounds through music.
This song is something only a hopeless romantic couild have written and here is my interpretation:
The first verse make me believe that he is reuniting with that special someone who had a previous relationship/stong connecting with in the past... Something happenede, and they are no longer together.. but the one telling this story, really wants to try to make it work this time. "I still believe in this, don't let it die"....
jumping now to: "You were always building me up Are you ready, build it back up" it makes me believe that the special someone is the one that ended everything. And now, the singer is asking him to give it a shot and try to make him feel the way he used to make him feel "back when you were mine*.
I am having a moment as I type this. I have too many ideas in mind and I just hope that what I could write was enough for you to understand what I think about the song.
