I could take steps in this moon and that cloud
Look at my breath and still feel the warm out
This isn't about seasons or about rhyme and reason
Trying to be smart but my 0's and my ones
Only show starts in my toes and thumbs
Nothing adds up but agrees
You becomes us and makes three

Here's to such an old invention
Dear, we touched the fourth dimension

Bottle rockets and time bombs and warheads
We could go back, or keep on, or be led
Follow me to the chapel, we're the kings of the castle
It's a science, but there's room to believe
In the riots, I find you and I breathe
This isn't for the weak hearts
But everyone's here at some part

Here's to such an old invention
Dear, we touched the fourth dimension
Tears to such an old invention
Here's an honorable mention

I'm on moons and clouds
Where worlds wrap around
I'm on moons and clouds
Where worlds wrap around

Here's to such an old invention
Dear, we touched the fourth dimension
Tears to such an old invention
Here's an honorable mention
We touched the fourth dimension
We touched the fourth dimension
We touched the fourth dimension

Love is an old invention. It was made long before any of us were here. And when you're in love your in another universe, another dimension, it feels so different, is probably how she feels. She's saying it feels that "We've touched the Fourth Dimension" We fell into this thing called love.

    Song Meaning

The actual meaning behind this song is about love, as stated by LIGHTS. It is easy to identify the lyrics with love when you look into them.

"Here's to such an old invention Dear, we touched the fourth dimension" - Love has been around for so long it is known as an 'old invention' to LIGHTS. It is in a whole 'nother dimension.

I really like that take on it. About love. But I think it's more in the realm of sex. Here's my take on it. Also, some lyrics are wrong, so as I go I'll be putting in corrections, capping the right word

"I could take steps...Look at my breath and still feel the warm out"

Orgasms make you warm, so even if it's cold you still feel warmth.

"Only show STARS in my toes and my thumbs"

I think this is more how when you tense up during sex and your toes curl. For girls anyway. Thumbs too I guess. Fingers in general really.

"You becomes us and makes three"

This one is kind of a no brainer. During sex, two people (you) become one (us) and makes three (potential baby)

"Here's to such an old invention, dear we touched the fourth dimension"

Now, how the previous comment stated, yes love is an old invention, but sex is just as old. Also, yes love is an out of world experience, but the lyrics say TOUCHED the fourth dimension. Love is constant, sex is only for a short time. Now if she had said "dear we're IN" rather than touched, I'd totally agree it was about love. But this more leans toward sex.

I'm going to skip most of the next verse, mostly because it's kind of hard to interpret, UNTILL the last two lines: "This isn't for the weak hearts, but everyone's here at some part"

Kind of taking about more literal look at it rather than the metaphors from the last lines. Sex is bad for you when you have a bad heart. Like, when someone has a heart attack, they are told to not have sex for awhile. Everyone's here at some part. Everyone has sex. Eventually. Unless you die before you can.

This line is really just an addition to what the beginning of the chorus says, I'm only adding it because it's wrong The second part of the second go through the chorus is "CHEERS to such an old invention" not tears. Although, if it were tears, it could add to my theory, some people cry after orgasming. But yeah, it's cheers.

    "Here's an honorable mention"

I think this more leans toward, she's only mentioning it. A lot of her other songs have to do with love, so this wouldn't really be a mention. Since it's possibly about sex, she doesn't have any other songs about the subject, so now it's more of a mention.

I could go on to talk about "I'm on moons and clouds.."etc, but it's more or less the same.

Like I said, I could be completely wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is what it's about. Really, it may be about both love and sex.

Oh, forgot to mention. Dubstep has been sort of considered to be orgasmic before. If you read youtube comments on dubstep music, you can read a few that say something along those lines. She has dubstep throughout a lot of this album, but this song has, what I consider, the most intense dubstep sequence in the entire album. It could relate. Not sure though. Just something I thought I should add.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
