Eyes of the Squirrel Lyrics

The eyes of the squirrel are watching
The eyes of the squirrel are watching

The eyes of the squirrel are watching
Barry swing his bat
Piano playing cats
Big mouth drunken whores

The eyes of the squirrel are watching
Drama that's for free
On reality TV
Where's that tuna casserole?

The eyes of the squirrel are watching
The eyes of the squirrel are watching

The eyes of the squirrel are watching
As we changed our minds
At least a half dozen times
Are we leaning red or leaning blue?

The eyes of the squirrel are watching
Oil's constant flow
Through the Gulf of Mexico
Anyone for battered shrimp?

The eyes of the squirrel are watching
The eyes of the squirrel are watching

The eyes of the squirrel are watching
Idiots start to fester
When he shot that child molester
Some call him hero
Some call him con

The eyes of the squirrel are watching
Another arrogant ass
Says he's got an N-Word pass
What the hell's an N-Word pass?

The eyes of the squirrel are watching
The eyes of the squirrel are watching

The eyes of the squirrel are watching
Brad and An-Jolie
Expand their family
Who's gonna be the next Octomom?

The eyes of the squirrel are watching
Obama wave his pecker
At the infrastructure wreckers
Saying "Whatcha' gonna do bout' that gun control?"

The eyes of the squirrel are watching
The eyes of the squirrel are watching

This song just seems to be about everything society pays attention to: Politics, news, celebrity gossip, sports, viral videos... I wonder if he's referring to anyone specifically with the "N-word pass", and it's easy to recognize the BP Spill in the song. "Anyone for battered for shrimp?" Is just hilarious! But unfortunately true about a lot of the sea life in the gulf .

Jay's drumming in the song reminds me somewhat of Spegetti. I saw them live twice this summer and each time they played this song at the beginning I was getting ready for "Why do we do this?". But the drum part at the end is amazing, Jay Lane, welcome back to Primus!

Hint: It makes a lot more sense if you replace "the eyes of the squirrel" with a similar-sounding phrase, "the eyes of the world."

I think he's calling society squirrels, we've all become squirrel-like, just watching all this shit happen on TV.
