Time Above the Earth Lyrics

I spend so much time above the earth,
thinking about life and each man's worth
How can one person be worth more
than a thousand people knocking on his door?
Still, the motion of your hair
Well, that could take me anywhere
Guess you're happier than I
Please don't say goodbye

Then I get off the plane
A thousand thoughts reaching through my brain
Like, Am I here beneath you, at all
Will I see her again?
If I do, will I feel the same?
And am I really here, at all

the lyric says it all. no hidden messages. It's a song about being above the earth and thinking of life. The thought's you sometime have when you're thinking about life.

The part "then i get off the plane" isn't a metaphor for something else. Luke actually wrote this song during a flight to New York in the flight bathroom for two hours, haha.

He was obviously thinking about a girl and was "above the earth" and wondering if he was gonna see her again now that's he got off the plane.

I'm starting to think that maybe the girl lives in New York.. A great song anyway! I just got my vinyl record : D

oh and the line "How can one person be worth more than a thousand people knocking on his door?" probably means that he spent so much time around her when he got other people caring for him and he's not giving them as much attention as her.

that's how i interpret the song..

lirri; i dont think he means just that but more n general. Like in dictatorships, theres millions of people crying out for help, but theres alway one person who seenms to be worth more then all of the them; the dictor himself anyway, such a beautiful song.

I read somewhere when the album went out that Luke had said this song was written by him on a plane while he was at the WC.

I always thought of the song as if it was him talking to the actual shit. Yes, disgusting, but well... LOL.

Talking about the actual shit, I meant* sorry for my english haha
