Old flame, it's always the old way
When did it get so damn cold?
You're so seasonal
We flickered and swayed
Each time the winter soul came
I remember gold days
Under love's warm haze
Old flame, you're still the one that holds me
Can't you feel it burning?
Can't you feel it burning still?
Old flame, I fell for your inferno
Where did all the love go?
Can't you feel the wind blow you closer to me?
I went by your house today
When did you get so hollow?
So closed, so overgrown?
But I flicker and sway
Still dancing on the aftertaste
I remember gold days
Wrapped up in the warmth we made
Old flame, you're still the one that holds me
Can you feel it burning?
Can you feel it burning still?
Old flame, I fell for your inferno
Where did all the love go?
Can't you feel the wind blow?
Smoke skies, colors and cloud nines
Circles and straight lines and drowned eyes
(When there's something in the air)
From such heights, I fell into fahrenheit
And time only fuels the desire
(When there's something in the air)
It's always the old way
When did it get so damn cold?
You're so seasonal
Old flame, burning
Burning, burning still
Old flame, inferno
Where did all the love go?
When did it get so damn cold?
You're so seasonal
We flickered and swayed
Each time the winter soul came
I remember gold days
Under love's warm haze
Can't you feel it burning?
Can't you feel it burning still?
Old flame, I fell for your inferno
Where did all the love go?
Can't you feel the wind blow you closer to me?
When did you get so hollow?
So closed, so overgrown?
But I flicker and sway
Still dancing on the aftertaste
I remember gold days
Wrapped up in the warmth we made
Can you feel it burning?
Can you feel it burning still?
Old flame, I fell for your inferno
Where did all the love go?
Can't you feel the wind blow?
Circles and straight lines and drowned eyes
(When there's something in the air)
From such heights, I fell into fahrenheit
And time only fuels the desire
(When there's something in the air)
When did it get so damn cold?
You're so seasonal
Burning, burning still
Old flame, inferno
Where did all the love go?

Love this song... and totally identify with it!
She's talking about the memory of this hot, passionate love... The first verse is about how intense the relationship was, how it cooled off and ended, but she's saying she still feels the heat, still burns for that love.
So in the 2nd verse she's talking about how he's a totally different person now, but she remembers the way he used to be, the way it was with them together. I love the line "Still dancing on the aftertaste." I think it's such a clever way of describing a feeling. If you've ever had a love so intense it was like the center of the sun... you never really forget that feeling. And if you're lucky you'll love someone else... but you'll never love again that way. That first explosive love. She's saying that she'll remember the taste of it forever, long for it forever, even though it's gone.
