Blackness awakens
Visions come alive
Seeing through darkness
With borrowed eyes

Death survivor
Take me higher
Reunite my soul

Whisperer of truth
I trust in you
To make me whole

Sun
Come shine my way
May healing waters bury all my pain

Wind
Carry me home
The fabric of reality is tearing apart
The piece of me that died
Will return
To live again

Feeling myself slip away
Suddenly dreaming awake
Hidden memories
Flooding back

I will not grow in the light
Until I pass through the darkest caverns of my heart

Dance with fire
Spirit guide erase the world outside

Messenger of truth
I trust in you
Transform me now

Sun
Come shine my way
May healing waters bury all my pain

Wind
Carry me home
The fabric of reality is tearing apart
The piece of me that died
Will return
To live again

And at last the time has come
To unite again as one

To the power of the Earth I'm calling
Crossing bridges in the sky
On a journey to renew my life
Shaman take my hand

Sun
Come shine my way
May healing waters bury all my pain

Wind
Carry me home
The fabric of reality is tearing apart
The piece of me that died
Will return
To live again

And at last the time has come
To unite again as one
To the power of the Earth I'm calling
Crossing bridges in the sky
On a journey to renew my life
Shaman take my hand

    My Interpretation

Read this with the understanding that I am a devout follower of Christ. I identify with the savior - not a religion or denomination. I also believe we can take away what we want from the lyrics. Whatever they were feeling when they wrote them (or John P was feeling) - one of the beauties of high art (yes I consider DT high art) is it can be interpreted individually by the listener.

    Let’s start at the beginning-

Death survivor, take me higher, Reunite my soul. Whisperer of truth, I trust in you To make me whole

I read this as Christ (the only man to overcome death) - take ME higher so I can be reunited with my creator - the Father. Now, whisperer of truth makes me think of the Holy Spirit - the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sinful nature (whisperer of truth) and creates in us a new spiritual being (make me whole).

Second, and I'll stop here - I won't do the whole song:

Sun, come shine my way, Make healing waters bury all my pain. Wind, carry me home, The fabric of reality is tearing apart. The piece of me that died Will return to live again

I like the allegory - Sun - "son", the baptism and renewal through Christ heals us and takes away our pain. The person is feeling reality coming apart because their known existence (their reality) is turned upside down by the truth of the Gospel of Christ. We were once children of God - separated in the Garden by sin - that "piece of us that died" - can return to live again through the blood and redemption of the Cross of Christ. The Wind - the Holy Spirit carries us home!

I hope this helps in some small way. I'm not proselytizing, I'm simply sharing what I feel when I hear this beautiful song.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
