I think..that the song is honestly a love song, plain and simple. But looking further in to it, it reminds me of lgbt. "I don't care if heaven won't take me back", because a lot of people say god 'hates gays'.

In my opinion, as with many others, apparently, it's a love song. It's the kind of love where you would do anything just to be with this person, just to be near them. You would break any and every rule for them and if you don't make it in to heaven for your sins, tough. It doesn't matter.

I read a few comments, and honestly the idea of being gay as a sin didn't even cross my mind. Not to be insulting to other people's beliefs, but that is just stupid. There is no reason God would persecute anyone for the way they are. However, taking into account that people out there do believe that, I'm hearing the song somewhat differently. Now I can't help but hear that in there too.

yea chelsea, it's definitely a epic love song. it reminds me of liking someone so much, that you'd break all the rules for them, despite the consequences. and those people that say god "hates gays" arent real christians. theyre here to trick people and give real christians a bad name, cause its a war to keep everyones spirits clean cause god believes we can do it, and satan thinks we're weak, and has gods permission to test us while we're in this reality, like in the book Job. it's kinda messed up i know, but thats how i see it and it makes sense to me

Yeah, they still say I'm a dreamer." Sometimes you need to sin to have love but it doesn't mean i've done something real bad and my friend will sing along becuase he has the same problem. And thats all i have HOPE YOU THINK THE SAME :D

I see it as pretty much a theme song for Castiel (from Supernatural), therefore the idea of epic, heaven-defying love fits in nicely with Destiel ^_^

Realistically, I highly doubt it was written as that, but it captures Cas so perfectly I felt I had to comment on it!

I see where everyone's getting the lgbt thing from and I kind of agree. But really it can be about any kind of forbidden love, like Romeo and Juliet. If they didn't die and stayed together, their families' would have probably disowned them. "I don't care if heaven won't take me back"

In an angel's view it could be forbidden love with any human regardless of gender. Interspecies relationships are sinful according to the bible with the cities (don't remember names), the people were in homosexual relations before and it didn't seem to bother God until they tried to... Get it on with angels.... If the homosexuality bothered him, the cities would have been destroyed before the angels could have been sent.

So yeah, in my opinion it's mostly about forbidden love.

I agree that this song is a love song. It is quite a beautiful one at that, but I think the singer is trying to convey the message that the said character is telling his lover that he would do anything for them. If loves a fight, then I shall die, with my heart on the trigger.-basically saying that said person would die for the other because of how much they love them. They say before you start a war, you better know what you're fighting for/well baby, you are all that I adore. If love is what you need, a soldier I will be.-saying that said person know exactly what he's fighting for. He's fighting for the other's love. I'm an angel with a shot gun-they have a good reputation, but they're willing to let that go for the person they love. I don't care if heaven won't take me back./Throw away my faith, babe, just to keep you safe.-this is a deep statement considering that they are basically saying that they'd give up God and all that they stand for to earn this person's love.

Overall, this is a beautiful song with deep statements and obviously the writer was feeling strong emotions while constructing this piece.
