| Taylor Swift – I Know Places Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| in XO by Fall Out Boy there's the line "loose lips sink ships" so I wonder if this references that slightly? (she has said she's a fan of FOB) | |
| Taylor Swift – Wonderland Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| A line that really fascinates me is "life was never worse but never better," because it could mean that the relationship had both extremes of feelings - intense love and happiness as well as intense desperation and conflict - as in life had never been this bad before but it had also never been this good. But I feel like it could be her life being almost unaffected by the relationship; her life wasn't worse because of the person, but they didn't make her life any better either, so the initial passion just wasn't worth it in the end. | |
| Britney Spears – Brightest Morning Star Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| i wonder if Brit knows that 'morning star' is how 'lucifer' is translated... (I'm not saying this song has anything to do with Lucifer, because I really don't think it does, it just amused me when I heard it) | |

I see it as pretty much a theme song for Castiel (from Supernatural), therefore the idea of epic, heaven-defying love fits in nicely with Destiel ^_^ Realistically, I highly doubt it was written as that, but it captures Cas so perfectly I felt I had to comment on it! |

| Taylor Swift – Superstar Lyrics | 12 years ago |

I think that it's about Joe Nichols. I head the demo and it says he was born in Arkansas (I can't remember the lyrics exactly). I first thought it was John Mayer or Joe Jonas, but since neither of them were born in Arkansas, it wouldn't make sense. So Joe Nichols was the only likely country singer born in Arkansas (the others were just too old), and after some detective work, it seems like he was in a local rock band ("You played in bars") and then he won the CMA Horizon award in 2003, meaning he must be pretty well known, especially to a country fan like Taylor. Also he went on tour in 2004, so she may well have gone to one of his concerts, fitting the lyrics perfectly. If Superstar was written 2004-2005 then it would make sense. It might not be true, but idk finding something relating to it has given me a bit of closure after spending the last 3 and a 1/2 years wondering who my favourite song was written about ;) |

| Candice Accola – Wrong To Be In Love Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
I'm not quite sure about the meaning of this... From what I can gather, she talks about have casual, no strings attached sexual relationships (perhaps to create a particular image for herself - "it's all for show"?) but then starts developing feelings for one of them, and tries to block the feelings out because she knows it will ruin the casualness of their relationship, but at the same time, she's wondering why is it that it's wrong to fall in love. That's just my thoughts on it, though :) |

| Darren Criss – Another Love Affair Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
I think this song is essentially about the end of a relationship, but with a fair amount of complications, mainly in the form of emotions. First verse: He's acknowledging the fact that the other person doesn't really care about the relationship anymore, but he still does, and although he's not going to force them to stay, he really, really wants them to. He considers starting over and trying to fix things, but knows it's not going to work because they just seem disinterested. So he puts a proposition forward ("So I'll wait for an answer") Chorus: He's decided to leave and find someone else for a while, either to make them jealous or to try and move on himself, He tries to pass it off as just "another love affair", like it doesn't mean anything to him, which it may well not, but then he admits that he needs someone to be with him, whether physically or emotionally, and this shows how vulnerable and desperate he feels. Second verse; He knows that his partner needs time alone or to be with someone else, but he wishes that wasn't the case and wants it to be him that they need. Then this person appears to attempt to break up with him, but he doesn't want to hear it because he's still in love with them. ("Shut up, shut up, I know what you're saying") However, he hates feeling this dependent on them and tries to hold himself together so that when the break up eventually happens, he can be alright and not seem so pathetically clingy. ("trying to pick up the pieces and put them back before it falls apart") So then he goes back to the idea of trying to make them jealous and hopes he can almost guilt trip them into not leaving him. Bridge: Here he comes to accept that their relationship will end, realising that maybe he doesn't love them as much as he initially thought, but despite this, still hates the idea of losing them - perhaps they've been around for so long he can't imagine a life without them. Then he realises that no matter what he tries, it won't work, so he should just give up. The line that confuses me is "I'd love to say that, say that you love me" because I think it either means that he'd love to tell them how dependent he is on them (the "that" being the previous lines) and then asks them to tell him that they love him. Or, it could just be a repetition of "say that" and he just wants to tell people that this person loves him, because he doesn't want to lose face or feel unwanted. End: The relationship is over, and he goes to find himself another love affair, whether he's looking for a meaningless fling or a serious relationship isn't particularly obvious, but it's his attempt to move on. Well, that's how I see it, anyway! Props to Darren for writing ANOTHER amazing song! |

| Taylor Swift – Come Back... Be Here Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
I think this might be about Jake Gyllenhaal because of the line "in my mind I play it back, spinning faster than the plane that took you" because of the line in Red (which I'm 99% certain is about him) "that's why he's spinning round in my head." I just think that the image of spinning round in her head must link to one time or person, but maybe I'm reading way too much into it... I adore this song so much though; it's so poignant. |

| Darren Criss – Don't You Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| The general meaning of the song is fairly simple: starting to fall in love with someone and wishing they felt the same way about you. However, I think it is absolutely gorgeous; Darren's way with music and lyrics is just breathtaking! | |
| Demi Lovato – Lightweight Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I absolutely adore this song!!!! It's probably my favourite on the album (but I do love all of them):) I think that it's about someone who's very fragile (for any reason - insecurity, illness, previously been hurt in a relationship) and then they meet someone who is just perfect - 'too good to be true'. So the song is like a warning to this perfect person, saying "I'm fragile, and I need you to be there for me when I need you. I need you to understand that you 'make me weak' and I'm giving my heart to you, so please, please look after it" |

| Taylor Swift – If This Was a Movie Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I think this song might be another Joe Jonas song... maybe... The 'movie' bit might reference the fact that he's an actor (which could also make it about Taylor Lautner, but I don't think it is because the line 'if you just say you're sorry' implies that the breakup was his fault, but Back To December apologises for HER mistake, not his) The 'six months on' line suggests that she's still hung up about the boy, even though their relationship ended a long time ago. And if Last Kiss is anything to go by, Taylor still misses Joe. But I could be completely wrong :) | |
