You've taken this step
In front of you
Is further from the truth
And fall apart
In front of me again
Denial isn't the way to forgiveness
You always swore that I was wrong
No taste for the crow you feed me
Not again
It's not a matter of if I care
Not again
What an intricate web your weaving
Again and again
While the clock fails to sleep
So here we are back we're it began
And toe to toe I stand
In front of you again
Denial isn't the way to forgiveness
You always swore that I was wrong
No taste for the crow you feed me
Not again
It's not a matter of if I care
Not again
What an intricate web your weaving
Again and again
No taste for the crow you feed me
Not again
It's not a matter of if I care
Not again
What an intricate web your weaving
Again and again
Again
I think this song is about someone going through a lot in life and can not take it anymore. also the person made a mistake and is trying to deny it but the person knows denial is not the answer to forgiveness. So he is now alone and watching how fast time goes by. Then the person gets another good life going and the same thing happens so He goes "not again."
Do you feel like you're falling? You've taken this step In front of you is further from the truth You fall apart in front of me again Again!
This is about the protagonist falling for the antagonist. The protagonist falls for the antagonist and they take the next step in their toxic relationship, i.e. start to date exclusively, cohabitating,or marriage. The antagonist if not what the protagonist thinks she is when the antagonist “falls apart” about something. This isn’t the first time for this kind of outburst and certainly won’t be the last.
Denial isn't the way to forgiveness You always swore that I was wrong
The antagonist denies any wrongdoing when the protagonist finally confronts her about her behavior. Of course he is wrong, just like everything else. Only the antagonist is right.
Not again No taste for the crow you feed me Not again It's not a matter of if I care Not again What an intricate web you're weaving Did it again
The protagonist has had enough of the half truths and misdealings of the antagonist. Of course the antagonist doesn’t understand why and gives her rebuttal in a form that serves her. Her response is something along the lines of if you cared you’d believe me. But he’s not having it this time. She starts to weave a web of lies to discredit him and to make herself look good.
So you try not to follow While the clock fails to sleep So here we are back where it began And toe to toe I stand in front of you again Again
The protagonist is trying to ignore her incessant stories and begging. Afterall, he isn’t getting any younger. The antagonist tires of the protagonist’s denial of giving in to her advances so she goes on the attack again. He thinks can you believe this, she’s doing this again?
Denial isn't the way to forgiveness You always swore that I was wrong
The antagonist continues to deny all of her actions. She continues to claim that the protagonist is wrong and lying about the events of their altercations. She swears that he doesn’t remember anything about it correctly.
Not again No taste for the crow you feed me Not again It's not a matter of if I care Not again What an intricate web you're weaving Again and again
The protagonist she is doing all of this again. He is sick of the lies and her attempts to discredit and slander him. It’s still not a matter of if he cares for her for her, he has started to fight for his dignity. But she continues with the the accusations and tells more lies to back up the earlier lies. She continues to follow this cycle because she just can’t be wrong. How would the world view her if they found out about her insecurities?
Not again No taste for the crow you feed me Not again It's not a matter of if I care Not again What an intricate web you're weaving Again and again Again! Again!
Affirmations of his level of acceptance of the continued cyclical abuse the protagonist has endured.
This song is dead on about relationships with someone with narcissistic personality disorder. The gender indicators are reversible, but since it’s a man singing my interpretation is from a man’s point of view. It could just as easily be a woman having these thoughts about her man.
