awesome song! love it.. i think this song it's about apocalypse ,, thats why come out on 21 may 2011.. the day that God would subsequently completely destroy the Earth and the universe five months later.

imagine god saying: "Do I end this all for the world to see." and the devil: "Do I take everybody else down, Everybody else down with me."

and i think on a ocean of fire with the phrase:

"Perpetually were igniting in waves. Incessantly were sinking in flames."

I think this song is actually about suicide, not the apocalypse (That's just taking it at face value imo). "Do I end this all for the world to see"=Suicide "Do I take everybody else down[...] Everybody else down with me."=Hurting his loved ones by taking his life "I know that death approaches fast. [...] What's the purpose if this life wont last?"=Life is short, so why not end it now?

What an album and what a frickin' opener! This song just kills it. Trivium doing what they do and what nobody else can do ...

I think the song is about the Japanese style of warfare in the Second World War, and since Matt is part-Japanese I could really believe that idea.

"In waves": waves of soldiers

"What's the purpose if this life won't last? Pulling everyone down with me.": sounds pretty much like the attitude of someone comitting Kamikaze, because, if he will die anyway, why would he die without taking the enemies with him?

I believe this song is about the idea of genocide. It brings up the question "Why does life matter if it doesn't last". I think it is the idea before you die, you will have your vengeance and kill everyone. I personally listen to this song when I am angry and it makes me imagine this. It brings happiness to me.

Well when I hear this song to me it sounds like someone who is on the brink of death in war and they are about to die because numbers are dwindling in waves...but they go out with a bang so to speak and pull down as many enemies as they possibly can.

I think this song is about someone who is thinking about commiting suicide and if he should idk shoot up a school or something(when he sings Do i take everybody else down.)

Life is impermanent, so what's the point? Life and death are in actuality one, for you cannot have life without death and death without life. Life and death come in waves for everyone. And not just for the individual ego, but also for the universe.

So, what's the point? "Pulling everyone else down with me" I believe means we are actually all in this together.
