I won't let you fall, as low as I been
I promise to crawl until I'm back on my feet
If something went wrong, just think of me
If something went wrong, don't you know I'd be here

So who's been unfair, Who causes you sorrow?
And who's been unkind, Who burst you bubble?
And who drags you down, down, down, down?
Who handed out lights?
And now I'm in trouble

I won't let you fall, As low as I been
I promise to crawl, Until I'm back on my feet
If something went wrong, just think of me
If something went wrong, don't you know I'd be here

I identify very personally with these lyrics.

For me, this is the song a man can sing to his partner, who is loyally understanding of his emotional troubles. To the point at which his partner can weather the storm of sorrows, and perhaps even unkind words, with the hope that someday he may get back on his feet again... and remember that he respects his partner..

its a conversation between to people, that care a lot about the other.

One is vowing to help the other who is currently in trouble - "I wont let you fall, as low as I've been" the other is down the dumps is vowing to try. I promise to crawl until I'm back on my feet"

The mood of the album really paints the picture for the conversation..

    Song Meaning

KC - This is a fairly old song, and a reject from one of my earlier bands in the 90s. It even appears as an old song on an album I put out on fence in 2001 called "king creosote says buy the bazouki hair oil", my 16th title in fact. The original song is simple enough - boy does bad, promises to do better, big sentiments and commitments if and only when desperately needed.

Jon asked for a second verse, many years after those particular emotions had long been transferred several times over, so I tried to pen something that not only illustrates the fact that many years have indeed gone by in the writing, but to bring in some older cynicism to counter the naivety in the original. Oh, and to try and not spoil it in any way. I'm proud of the wordplay in the new verse, and in particular "harl abuse at the wall".

    Song Fact

I am somehow associated with supplying the words to this song, however those are not the words I associate with this song. I did submit the first iteration of these lyrics for this song on this site. However, these are not the words that I submitted. The lines "Hurl abuse at the world, heap scorn upon treasure" are what inspired me to add the lyrics to this site, however they are omitted here (at this time, 2023-11-07).

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
