how can this song not have any comments? It is such a perfectly beautiful song

I both love and hate this song. Whilst intensely beautiful, it somehow makes my greatest fear (eternal oblivion) seem alluring.

Regardless, this is an amazingly simple composition that holds philosophical value to me.

I am borderline obsessed with this band. Ok, first and foremost, I know that lyrics don't exist and often it is a mix of a lot of things Jonsi comes up with. I think he wants people to feel the emotions of the song first and then possibly make up your own lyrics to fit how the music makes you feel.

Second, my interpretation of the lyrics for Njósnavelin are based on the live version from the Roskilde concert in 2000, along with some info concerning the lyrics from Sigur Ros' own website. The version on the () album is nothing like the version in the Roskilde concert. Having said that, download that version, put on some headphones and see if my interpretation is interesting, hope you like it as much as I love this song and this band.
