This is probably the best song on the album. At least to me, it means the most. It's basically talking about how many people aimlessly live without truly accomplishing what makes them happy. And when their time is up, they wish they could have tried to reach their goals. People all live in the same rhythm and do as the person next to you does. It's a very straight-forward song but it's very moving and emotional both lyrically and musically. Awesome!
The song alludes to "The Reality" of hell. It is a song to fellow Christians, "We were created to set an example. So what is this, what is this?". Christianity teaches that we are the body of Christ and Christians should be the example to the world as to how they should live. But "The Reality" is that we are not the perfect example that we should be. The chorus is:
"(It seems like every soul Has been sold for a dollar or less. I guess we'll never know How good it could have been.) How good it could have been!"
Meaning that everybody, including Christians, have sold their innocence for so cheap, and we may never know just how good our lives could have been if we lived the life that God wants us to live.
Matty is an avid Christian and when he writes,
"Follow me or back out now. Follow me with all your heart Or back out now!"
I believe that he is quite literally saying follow me on the path to Christ otherwise I don't want you in my Reality.
Basically what the title says, The Reality. Lots of people die without trying to reach for their dreams and most likely regret it.
