Recharge & Revolt Lyrics
with a hole in my head I looked for you
through the trenches of war the whole world through
my desire to leave with you I just can’t constrain
I regret everything I’ve done so far
when the pillars of love are all blown apart
I stumble through the rubble and decay
when I’m terrified I close my eyes
when I’m sad and blue I choose to fight
heartbreak only can take you to the other side
my impression of you is hard to comprehend
when two people have no time to spend
you’re the dreamiest girl that ever entered my life
the bliss I feel knowing you’re delirious
makes me feel oh so imperious
when the longing comes I’ll fight it till the end
when all broken dreams are glued back together
and there’s nothing to talk about not even the weather
and all rivals are all laid to rest
with impunity I silently reach for you
with a scarecrow shiver and the corn fields too
I've reached my pivotal turning with you
when the pink fluorescent feeling does subside
and your perfume lingers purely in my mind
I'm fit to leave this war behind
I recharge and revolt
my time has come
and I'm tempted to duel
even the sun
I'll dash the flames
and kill it with my gun
through the trenches of war the whole world through
my desire to leave with you I just can’t constrain
when the pillars of love are all blown apart
I stumble through the rubble and decay
when I’m sad and blue I choose to fight
heartbreak only can take you to the other side
when two people have no time to spend
you’re the dreamiest girl that ever entered my life
makes me feel oh so imperious
when the longing comes I’ll fight it till the end
and there’s nothing to talk about not even the weather
and all rivals are all laid to rest

I've reached my pivotal turning with you
when the pink fluorescent feeling does subside
and your perfume lingers purely in my mind
I'm fit to leave this war behind

and I'm tempted to duel
even the sun
I'll dash the flames
and kill it with my gun

I think the lyrics are pretty close. This is what I'm hearing...

I have to agree thx Hepburner. heavy rotate it.

I think it's about a serious relationship that was destroyed by some personal vices and years later they are trying to come together wondering if they still have that original magic that the relationship was founded on
I don't think the "girl" is real. I tend to interpret this song literally. It's a variation of the short story "An Occurrence on Owl Creek Bridge," which is about a soldier's dying thoughts. The narrator is a dying soldier in an unnamed war, shot in the head in a cornfield. Rather than remember his life, his last fleeting thought is an imaginary girl he may or may not have met.
That's why it says "my impression of you is hard to comprehend/when two people have no time to spend" - he can't fully recall her or know her because he either only knew her briefly- or she's imaginary - which the next line, where she's the "dreamiest girl" takes on a double meaning.
