Stange questions in the song. S/he needs to be in the other person's life...in the flesh. How is that too much to ask. Confidence abounds for all but one. Explain that one.
I'm assuming its a reference to Christianity and the person in the song wanting to be free from some wrong(s) that they committed or are constantly committing. They feel caught up in whatever it is and they feel trapped. They are looking to God for help.
